Fallout 76 Server Maintenance | What’s Fallout 76 server status?

Fallout 76 has been plagued by lots of problems since its release, and numerous updates have been released to try and fix it. With the next patch landing soon, scheduled Fallout 76 server maintenance has been taking place. So when will the Fallout 76 server maintenance end and allow players to test out the latest fixes and new content?

Why is Fallout 76 Server Maintenance Required?

Fallout 76 developer Bethesda will have wanted to take the servers offline to make sure that they are primed for the game’s latest update, for the influx of players that will turn up to see what’s new and improved, and to generally stabilize their latest title.

It’s no secret that Fallout 76 has been a mess for most players since its launch in mid-November, so Bethesda will have been desperate to make sure that this round of maintenance holds up. They want Fallout 76 to be a huge success and, if it keeps having problems, more and more players will leave in search of new online multiplayer games to try instead.

When is the Fallout 76 Server Maintenance Scheduled for?

Bethesda took the servers down at 7:30 AM EST (12:30 PM GMT, 4:30 AM PST) to patch through the latest update, to conduct the necessary maintenance, and to ensure that there was minimal disruption to people who play the game. With US players likely still in bed or only waking up, and UK players in work at the time, this was the best option available to them.

When Will the Fallout 76 Server Maintenance End?

Thankfully it already has. The Bethesda Support Twitter account announced that the scheduled downtime had finished after they sorted out what needed to be done. Players should be able to access Fallout 76 on all platforms again – PC, PS4, and Xbox One – right now. If you can’t, you’ll have to get in contact with Bethesda Support to query why you can’t if everyone else can.

Previous: The Fallout 76 servers are currently down for official Fallout 76 server maintenance. With many complaints about bugs, glitches, and connection errors surfacing on a daily basis, Bethesda has announced that it intends to launch a brand new patch for Fallout 76, which will hopefully undo some of the damage caused by Fallout 76 and its problematic servers. As of now, it seems that the Fallout 76 server maintenance is only taking place on PS4 and Xbox One, so PC players should be unaffected. Here’s everything you need to know about today’s Fallout 76 server maintenance, including when the Fallout 76 servers will be back online and why the Fallout 76 servers are down in the first place.

Fallout 76 Server Maintenance

Bethesda released their official statement on the Fallout 76 server maintenance on Twitter just this afternoon:

No information has been provided as to when the Fallout 76 Fallout 76 servers will be back online, but it’s likely that this patch will be for the best. Although the outage report shows that complaints are flying in at extraordinarily high levels, DownDetector has not yet picked up on the surge in complaints, likely because of how fresh the server crashes are.

If you want to play Fallout 76 as soon as it comes back online, you’ll need to pay attention to the Bethesda Support Twitter page, as that’s the resource that the support team will be using to communicate with players throughout the Fallout 76 server maintenance. Until the maintenance is complete, no players on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to access the online-only Fallout 76, which may be inconvenient for some players, but it unfortunately the case. We can possibly expect them to return around 8 AM Pacific/11 PM Eastern/4 PM GMT unless maintenance gets extended. Previous instances of Fallout 76 going down thanks to maintenance have not ordinarily lasted longer than three hours.

As of now, it seems that PC players are not affected, but this might change in the near future if Bethesda begins server maintenance on Fallout 76 on PC soon. Until then, PC players should be able to play Fallout 76 as normal.
