Red Dead Redemption 2 1.03 Update

Red Dead Redemption 2 1.03 Update Patch Notes – What’s Changed?

The Red Dead Redemption 2 1.03 update is here! With this being the first major patch since the opening week of Rockstar’s Western epic, there’s a lot to holler about. Unfortunately, the Red Dead Redemption 2 1.03 update patch notes are looking a little sparse right now. Still, with the introduction of Red Dead Online, it’s well worth looking into to see what’s changed in the new Red Dead Redemption 2 update.

Red Dead Redemption 2 1.03 Update – Patch Notes

It’s worth knowing right off the bat that, as of writing, there are no official Rockstar-mandated Red Dead Redemption 2 1.03 update patch notes. With the update going live at 5:30 AM Pacific/8:30 AM Eastern/1:30 PM GMT, it may take a little while longer for those to roll out.

However, we have a middle ground: the notes that come bundled in the “Update History” section of every PS4 game. For Red Dead Redemption 2 1.03, they are as follows:

“Update 1.03 – Red Dead Online Beta update, plus a range of miscellaneous improvements and bug fixes for optimal performance.”

So, headline news: the Red Dead Online beta (and it’s worth remembering it’ll be in the beta phase into 2019) is now included, though only Ultimate Edition users can play on Tuesday, November 27. Players who booted the game up on launch day can play on Wednesday, November 28, launch week players can play on Thursday, November 29, and everyone else on Friday, November 30.

Red Dead Redemption 2 1.03 Update – Bug Fixes

The list of improvements and bug fixes also sounds promising. The camp characters missing bug plagued the early weeks of Red Dead Redemption 2 and zgosnhoiner on Reddit reveals that the likes of Sadie and Jack are back in camp for those who have seen them MIA in recent times.

While Red Dead Redemption 2 has been nowhere near the level of the original in terms of bugs, anything that can also increase optimization can only be a good thing. With the space of the 5.6 GB update coming nearly four weeks after release, it’s clear that Rockstar has spent their time polishing and fixing any erratic issues that have cropped up.

We don’t have (official) details right now, and it’d be unwise to merely speculate, we now have what is seemingly a more complete version of RDR 2 than we did pre-1.03. That’s something – and official patch notes will be added as soon as we get them.
