Pokemon Let’s Go Snorlax – How to Get Past It

Pokemon Let’s Go Snorlax—how amazing would that be? Unfortunately, the gluttonous Snorlax isn’t available for players to pick as a starter, likely because you couldn’t really carry it about on your head. Very impractical. Snorlax is in Pokemon Let’s Go, though, and can be found blocking the path from Celadon City to Pokemon Road. It can also be found blocking the way from Lavender Town to Fuchsia City. In both instances, Snorlax is asleep and can only be woken up in one way. Here’s a guide on how to get past Snorlax in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.

Pokemon Let’s Go Snorlax – How to Get Past It

In Pokemon Let’s Go Snorlax can be woken up in the same way as other Gen 1 Pokemon games—by using the Poke Flute. However, this time around, the way in which players obtain the Poke Flute is slightly different.

First, you need to go to Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town. After your rival gets spooked by the ghosts, you’ll notice Jessie, James, and Meowth to the west of Lavender Town. They’ll take off with Cubone, who gets a storyline of its own in Let’s Go, and head to the infamous Rocket Game Corner in Celadon City.

You’ll need to complete the Game Corner by finding the Lift Key with the help of your Partner Pokemon. Afterwards, you’ll be able to fight Giovanni in the basement of the Rocket Game Corner. As a reward, he’ll give you the Silph Scope, which can be used to force to ghosts in Pokemon Tower to take on their true forms—Gastly, Haunter, Cubone, Zubat, and Golbat. It doesn’t really make sense for the last three to be ghosts, but it is what it is.

Getting to the top of the Pokemon Tower will yield a scene in which Mr. Fuji is being threatened by Team Rocket. After saving him, he’ll give you the Poke Flute, which will allow you to rouse a sleeping Snorlax. It will be very hungry when it wakes up and will literally try to eat you, so you need to defeat it in battle before you get a chance to catch it. Snorlax usually has “amazing” stats, so catching it at the midpoint of your journey can be a real game changer.
