Is There a Fallout 76 Level Cap?

I know, I know. It’s early days. Still, a Fallout 76 level cap should be at the forefront of your mind if you’re looking to wring every last drop out of the wasteland. But, with this being an MMO- and one that could last years, at that- what is the Fallout 76 level cap? The answer is an interesting one, with Bethesda choosing to forgo the traditional RPG route.

Is There a Fallout 76 Level Cap?

Weirdly, there isn’t one. At least, not one that is readily apparent in the game thus far. You can keep on going forever, if you wish. However, there comes a point where your XP gains will become so minimal, and your overall impact on the world is diminished by not being able to level up properly in a conventional manner. If you want to call that an unofficial Fallout 76 max level, then so be it. It begins at level 50, as revealed by Todd Howard at QuakeCon (H/T PCGamesN)

Fallout 76 Level Cap – What Happens at Level 50?

From level 50 onwards, you will no longer receive SPECIAL points for you to put into your character’s build. So, you will no longer be able to level up your Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, nor your Luck skill. Hey, I’ve fared alright without all of that for years.

That doesn’t mean, however that Perk Cards are off the table. So, if you haven’t received a certain Perk Card (there are well over 50 available in the game), then you’re not completely flat out of luck. Hey, you should’ve put some more points into Luck! You can get every single one of them, providing you level up and get a Perk Card (or Perk Card Pack) each time.

How it affects the endgame remains to be seen. After all, no one’s got there yet, let alone reached level 50.
