Shadow of the Tomb Raider Silencer

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Silencer – How to Equip

While the stealthy approach isn’t always the best option, the Shadow of the Tomb Raider silencer, known as the pistol suppressor, can be an invaluable asset on Lara’s travels and occasional tomb raiding. However, the game doesn’t tell you how to equip the silencer, nor does it make it very clear what silenced weapons there are in the game. Let’s rectify that.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Silencer – How to Equip

While the game doesn’t spell it out for you, the Shadow of the Tomb Raider silencer, like previous entries into the series, equips automatically. You don’t need to equip it at a base camp, nor do you need to fiddle around with the menus to find a solution to this obscure issue. However, you should be aware that not too many weapons can actually have the silencer (or suppressor, if that’s what you want to call it, as it’s not very silent in-game) attached.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Silencer – Compatible Weapons

Only two weapons in the entire game can have the Shadow of the Tomb Raider silencer attached, and they’re both pistols. They are:

  • AB .45 pistol (your starting, default pistol)
  • C&T 55 (buy from the Kuwaq Waku merchant for 4,200 Gold Pieces)

So that means, when you do get the silencer early on, you won’t be able to couple it with another early-game weapon, the River Hawk pistol, which is a reward for completing the Deal With the Pillagers side mission.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider Silencer – Where to Buy

You can buy the Shadow of the Tomb Raider silencer from the very first merchant you come across, in Kuwaq Yaku. He’ll be clearly marked on your map just moments after entering the area. Go to him and you can buy the Pistol Suppressor for 1,800 Gold Pieces; you should have more than enough even at this early point in the game to buy it.
