Red Dead Redemption 2 Closed Stores – How to Skip

Red Dead Redemption 2 players have found a way to circumnavigate the RDR2 closed stores. The game’s predecessor – Red Dead Redemption – would always force you to come back when the store was open. However, it seems there’s a solution to this problem in Rockstar Games’ latest gaming hit. Here’s how to skip closed stores in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Closed Stores – What’s the Deal?

In Red Dead Redemption, turning up a store, mission waypoint, or any other important location in the game at the wrong time would be a pain in the backside. Players would be told what time they would have to return at a more convenient time for NPCs.

This gameplay mechanism was a source of frustration for players, with some aggrieved that they would have to head back to camp and sleep until morning, or race off into the night on horseback and find something to do to kill the time until morning.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has added a feature that helps to solve this. Making his fellow players aware of the solution on Reddit, user Melgitat_Shujaa revealed all in a thread on the Red Dead Redemption 2 subreddit.

Melgitat_Shujaa revealed that it was possible to fast-forward until the morning if you’ve turned up a store to find it shut for the night. By pressing the “triangle” button on your PS4 controller (or Y on Xbox One) when stood right in front of the store’s main entrance, players could skip until the morning. This allows players to forego waiting around if they wish to sell or buy items in the shop. In essence, it works very similarly to the meditation feature recently found in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and can see you stop chasing your tail throughout the night.
