Black Ops 4 Weapon Stats Reset – Is There a Fix?

Gun challenges are a major part of the Call of Duty multiplayer experience so, when there’s a Black Ops 4 weapon stats reset issue, people have every right to be up in arms about it. From headshots, to total kills, and more, many are seeing their recorded stats veer wildly off-course and not reflect the total progression for each weapon. Which means you’re probably looking for a Black Ops 4 weapon stats reset fix. Do you want the good news or the bad news?

What is the Black Ops 4 Weapon Stats Reset Bug?

As put forth by (several) members of the Call of Duty community support forums, users are finding that weapon challenges are doing a bunch of things from resetting to zero, wiping off progression in large chunks, and even locking camo that was previously unlocked. All in all, a pretty fine mess for those involved.

While there is no outright cause for the issue, the sheer volume of complaints directed at headshot challenges, as well as Activision responding in the above thread by asking for headshot data, would indicate that many of the Black Ops 4 weapon stats reset problems can be traced back to headshots.

Is There a Black Ops 4 Weapon Stats Reset Fix?

So, this is the good news/bad news bit. The bad news: there’s no official fix by Activision so, if your weapon stats have been reset, you’re going to have to keep plugging away yet again until a new update or hotfix gets released.

The good news? Activision is actively working towards sorting out the stats reset glitch. In a post on Reddit, the Launch Weekend Community Update from Treyarch, there’s an explicit mention of a “temporary loss in some progression stats.” Treyarch is now aware of the issue and a fix (should) be imminent.

For now, it may be best to put less stock in weapon challenges, especially those involving headshots, unless you want to get burned. It’ll be back to normal in no time.
