black ops 4 double xp weekend

Is There a Black Ops 4 Double XP Event Happening?

Will there be a Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 double XP weekend to look forward to? With Black Ops 4 finally out in the wild, players have spent the past day or so getting to grips with the latest installment in the series, and many are happy with what they’ve seen. The servers will likely be overloaded with players all weekend long too, so will Black Ops 4 gamers have a special 2XP event lined up for them?

Black Ops 4 Double XP – What is the Double XP Event?

In something of a tradition for previous Black Ops games, a double XP weekend has usually been dropped right after each game’s release. Double XP weekends have also been a timed event in other Call of Duty titles too, such as Call of Duty: WWII. The event allows players to, well, earn double XP and race through the ranks at a quicker pace to earn those coveted prestige emblems.

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 releasing on October 12, it could be argued that a Black Ops 4 double XP weekend would go down extremely well with the community, especially if it occurred on opening weekend. Should we expect to see one then?

Black Ops 4 Double XP – Will it Happen This Weekend?

As of right now, there’s been no official word from the game’s developer Treyarch, or publisher Activision, about a Black Ops 4 double XP weekend. One Reddit user, who goes by the username JuulJunction, posed the question to his fellow players on the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 subreddit. There have only been two replies to the thread at the time of writing, but both have indicated that there won’t be a Black Ops 4 double XP weekend. We guess the grind will be real for the game’s opening weekend, if nothing else. Come on Treyarch, give us a special 2XP surprise!
