AC Odyssey Can’t Upgrade Spear of Leonidas Fix

You know how it goes: you get a mythical weapon and, for the life of you, you can’t seem to make it more powerful. It happens. However, the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey can’t upgrade Spear of Leonidas bug would stump even the gods themselves. Read on below to find out what the issue is, how to potentially avoid it, and if there’s a Spear of Leonidas fix incoming.

Why Can’t I Upgrade the Spear of Leonidas in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey?

can't upgrade spear of leonidas

While we already have a guide on how to upgrade the Spear of Leonidas, this is for people who can’t interact with the Forge of Hephaistos on Andros Island.

The problem stems from a “Upgrade the spear” command that doesn’t trigger upon getting enough Mysterious Fragments. For many, such as those on the Ubisoft forums, you’ll find that you’re stuck on Level 2 of upgrading the spear and unable to progress any further with the weapon tree. It all appears to be down to a potentially ruinous bug, which means that there isn’t one ideal way of fixing the issue.

Is There an Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Can’t Upgrade Spear of Leonidas Fix?

Forum users, such as csizilaci1992 have reported that levelling up your character and returning later in the game can stop the issue but, by and large, many Assassin’s Creed Odyssey players are stuck with a blunted Spear of Leonidas (relatively speaking) until Ubisoft sees fit to patch it out.

However, there is some hope: a tried-and-tested method to sidestep any game-breaking bugs is to constantly maintain a safety net of several game slots in the off-chance that one of them may not be affected by things such as the Spear of Leonidas bug.

There’s also the none-too-considerable update of Ubisoft now being aware of the issue; expect it to be patched in the coming days and, for now, avoiding anything to do with that quest until a Spear of Leonidas fix has rolled out. We’ll update this page accordingly when a patch arrives, so be sure to keep us bookmarked and to keep checking back.
