Assassin's Creed Odyssey How Long to Beat

How Long is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey to Beat? – Main Story Length and Completionist Run

How long Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes to beat depends on a vast number of variables. As the series has gone on, there’s been more and more side content packed into each entry. There’s a genuine possibility that your Assassin’s Creed Odyssey total game length may be several multiples of the time it takes you to beat the main story.

How Long to Beat Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: Main Story Length and Completionist Length

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey takes you across the entirety of Greece (a scaled-down version at least). Throughout your adventures, you’ll find a ridiculous amount of side content that you can skip or complete at your leisure. Because of this, players are going to have wildly varying playtimes.

From our experience with the game so far we can throw out some numbers concerning an Assassin’s Creed Odyssey main story playtime, an average time to beat (main story and some side content), and how long it’ll take you to experience 100% of what the game has to offer.

  • Campaign Length: 35-40 Hours
  • Average Playthrough (Main Story + Some Side Quests/Exploring): 55-60 Hours
  • Completionist (100% Playthrough): 100+ Hours

The main story itself is quite long and takes you across Greece, but around five hours or so are tacked on in addition to the time to complete just the main story quests because you’re going to have to do a bit of grinding to make sure you’re at the recommended level for each one. Playing through just the campaign won’t give you the XP you need to straight shot the story, so you’re gonna either have to do some side content or get really good at the combat.

For most players, 55-60 hours is a reasonable average. That gives you plenty of time to complete the main story in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and also hit up a good chunk of the most exciting side content. In around 60 hours you’ll get to experience most of what the game has to offer and will be the jumping off for most.

However, if you’re looking to get 100% completion in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you’re gonna have to spend 100+ hours playing. There is a ridiculous amount of locations to explore, side quests to pick up, and secrets to find, and you have to also figure in travel time to get there. It’ll be a very lengthy undertaking if you decide to seek out and complete every little thing there is to do in this game.
