Rocket League 1.53 Patch Notes

Developer Psyonix loves to update its car soccer game. Some are smaller, but the Rocket League 1.53 patch notes are pretty extensive. Here’s a look at what is in this newest update.

Rocket League 1.53 Patch Notes: The Big Stuff

There are a ton of small changes listed in Psyonix’s patch notes. Here’s the general idea of what’s in the patch:

  • Hot Wheels Rivals Arena is playable in Casual Playlists, Tournaments, Private Matches, and Offline Matches
  • Competitive Season 8 has come to an end.
  • Season 8 Rewards are now available for eligible players.
  • The Monstercat x Rocket League Vol. 4 EP is now in the game.

The game also has Monstercat-themed flags and a topper and some Hot Wheels flags. These are all for free in the patch.

The rewards Season 8 are as follows:

Bronze I or higher – Season 8 – Bronze Rocket Boost

Silver I or higher – Season 8 – Silver Rocket Boost + lower Rocket Boosts

Gold I or higher – Season 8 – Gold Rocket Boost + lower Rocket Boosts

Platinum I or higher – Season 8 – Platinum Rocket Boost + lower Rocket Boosts

Diamond I or higher – Season 8 – Diamond Rocket Boost + lower Rocket Boosts

Champion I or higher – Season 8 – Champion Rocket Boost + lower Rocket Boosts

Grand Champion – Season 8 Grand Champion in-game Title + all Season 8 Rocket Boosts

Competitive Season 9 has a “soft reset” that makes players do their placement matches in each playlist so the game can recalibrate.  The League Rankings will also be empty for a bit until players complete their matches. Also, winning half of your placement matches will put you near your ranking in the previous season.

Players will also have a different MMR (Matchmaking Rating) for each playlist, hence why everyone needs to play each playlist. All will contribute to your Season Reward Level.

The post-game lobby screen has been shortened for everyone and can now be skipped. The 50 XP bonus for completing a match has been bumped up to 200 XP. And the Weekly Win Bonus is now 2,500 XP.
