Vampyr Update

Vampyr Update: What Is in the Third Vampyr Update

The third major Vampyr update will be coming soon, and with it comes brand new difficulty modes for the Victorian vampire RPG. With this guide, you can learn when the latest patch will drop, along with more details on how it could radically change how you play the game.

When Is the New Vampyr Update?

This brand new third Vampyr update will be arriving for players September 26 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

What Is In the New Vampyr Update?

The third major Vampyr update will be adding two new difficulty settings: Story Mode and Hard Mode. The former of the two modes will de-emphasize combat, “placing a greater focus on narrative so players can enjoy Dr. Jonathan Reid’s journey with less challenging gameplay” according to the developers. In contrast, the other mode coming to the game will be far more difficult.

Hard Mode will lower the amount of experience gained from enemies. This means that players will need to feed on more civilians to gain the necessary EXP to increase their power. When this update hits, you will be given the option to choose between these two modes and a ‘Normal Mode’. This latter difficulty setting will let you play the game as it was when it originally released. Once you have chosen a difficulty, you will not be able to change it.

The update will also bring support for Nvidia Ansel for PC versions of the game. This will allow players to share high-quality images of the game to mobile, PC or VR Headset. There are also the following fixes coming with the update (via Steam):

  • An issue where the key to Morgue was missing has been fixed (Mission 21)
  • Fixed an issue where there was a wall missing collisions in Aloysius’ mansion
  • Fixed an issue that would occur with two-handed weapon skills
  • Fixed an issue with Simplified Chinese achievements appearing in English
  • Various other fixes
