Rumors of a Crash Team Racing PS4 version have been circulating for a long time, but now it seems that there might actually be some credibility to them. The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was released for PS4 on June 30, 2017, and has enjoyed monumental success since. Surely, in that case, fan-favorite Crash Team Racing must be on its way to PS4, too? Now, it seems it really might be.
Crash Team Racing PS4: Is Crash Team Racing Coming To PS4?
The folks over at Push Square have recently revealed that Crash Team Racing happened to show up in a PlayStation Asia survey. Well, kind of. The survey was being carried out ahead of the release of The Last of Us Part II, and it invited players to select all of the games from a list of titles that they had played before. This list included some pretty big games, like God of War, and Uncharted 4; however, all of the games were playable on PS4—except one.
Crash Bandicoot Racing, which was the Japanese title for the popular game Crash Team Racing, was included on the list for some reason. Crash Team Racing was released for the PlayStation way back in 1999, and it isn’t playable on PS4—so why was it on the list? This fact, combined with the fact that Activision are apparently working on a Crash Bandicoot title due to release in 2019, implies that there’s a serious possibility that Crash Team Racing could be getting a remaster for the PS4 some time in 2019.
Although nothing is confirmed, the game’s presence on that list of titles was very odd, and could potentially have been an error made from confusing upcoming titles with recent releases. If that is the case, players will have a PlayStation classic to look forward to in 2019.
