The winning entry was originally designed as a male-only hairstyle, but the final implementation has made it available on both male and female characters.

When it comes to how to unlock the new hairstyle in Final Fantasy 14 Patch 4.4, Square Enix wants you to fight tooth and nail for your new do. It’s a PvP reward. Unlike the PvP exclusive mounts, you’ll unlock the new “Styled for Hire” hairstyle by exchanging 18,000 PvP Wolf Marks at a vendor in the Wolve’s Den. If you’ve put a bit of time into PvP in the past, there’s a fair chance you’ll already have enough to grab it. If not, you’ll have to spend some time beating up your follow Eorzeans.

Once you’ve bought the hairstyle, use it from your inventory to unlock it for good. Then head over to the Aesteician to wear the new 4.4 hairstyle.
