Splatoon 2 New Weapons: What are New Weapons in Splatoon 2 4.0 Update?

In last night’s Nintendo Direct, Splatoon 2 Version 4.0 was announced. The new update (which is live now) has added quite a lot of new content to the squid-based shooter. More Splatoon 2 new weapons have been added, alongside adjustments to Splatfests, clothes, and stages. The Splatoon 2 4.0 update is quite big, but the new weapons are what players are after the most. What are the new Splatoon 2 weapons?

Splatoon 2 New Weapons: What are the New Weapons?

Splatoon 2 version 4.0 has brought with it a bunch of new weapon sets. The flashy trailer from last night’s direct (above) showcased some new ink grenades (that have to be shaken to become more powerful), and some very stylish new weapons. The new weapons in question are part of the Kensa Collection. The Kensa Collection of weapons will go live during next weekend’s Splatfest, unfortunately. Donned in a monochrome color scheme, these weapons are very fashion-forward. The full list of new Splatoon 2 weapons is as follows (thanks go to PerfectlyNintendo):

  • Splattershot Kensa (Sub: Suction Bombs, Special: Tenta Missiles)
  • Splat Charger Kensa (Sub: Sprinkler, Special: Baller)
  • Splat Charger Scope Kensa (Sub: Sprinkler, Special: Baller)
  • Splat Dualies Kensa (Sub: Suction Bombs, Special: Baller)
  • Splat Roller Kensa (Sub: Splat Bomb, Special: Bubble Blower)

Splatoon 2 New Weapons: What do the New Splatoon 2 Weapons do?

None of the new weapons do anything particularly new, unfortunately. Splatoon 2 is full of weapons, but they all stick within their own classes. For example, the Splat Dualies Kensa looks different, but it will only differ in stats compared to the standard Splat Dualies. Each weapon comes with a Sub and Special, however, so it’s up to you to find a set that you like.

Splatoon 2 New Weapons: How to Get the Kensa Weapon Sets?

Splatoon 2 New Weapons

The super slick new Kensa weapon sets will be available to buy within Splatoon 2’s weapon shop. You will have to unlock the ability to buy them, however. To do this, all you need to do is play the game enough online and level up to the correct level. You’ll accrue plenty of money along the way.
