Fortnite 2048 Guide: How To Win 2048 Fortnite

This is a guide on the Fortnite edition of the simple yet addictive tile game known as 2048. You’re either here because you’re getting game overs with a board full of of standard pistols, or because you don’t know what the latest Fortnite-derived title is. This guide will tell you everything you need to know about Fortnite 2048, and will teach you how to get higher scores than all of your friends.

2048 Fortnite Guide: What Is Fortnite 2048?

First and foremost, what is 2048 Fortnite? Well, it’s a simple tile game with a 4×4 grid. You move tiles around the grid in order to match them with tiles that have the same face. Any of the slots on the board that aren’t filled with a tile are empty, and you can move a tile to these slots by using the arrow keys. At all time, you want as many empty tiles as possible, so that you’ve got room to maneuver. The first few tiles are standard weapons, like pistols and ARs. However, each time you match a set of tiles, the numeric value in the bottom right corner increases. For instance, two pistols, which have a value of 16, will become a 32 Tactical Submachine Gun, and so on. The idea is to get the 2048 tile.

It’s easy to get matches early on. When the board is filled with 2s and 4s, you can’t not get matches. However, the game gets progressively more difficult, as every move you make drafts in a rogue 2 tile. The higher the tiles you have on the board, the more difficult it becomes to get rid of all of those 2s.

Once you get a tile with a decent value, say a 128 Tactical Shotgun, you want to lock it in a corner immediately. That tile is useless until you have a second one to match it with, so get it out of your way. From the corner, play a pyramid-shaped game—128 in the top-right corner, for instance, and the tiles to the left of it and beneath it should be the highest-value tiles you have. Now, you should start combining lower-value tiles by using the remainder of the board, pushing them closer to your  chosen corner as they increase in value.

If you want a board full of SCARs, then you’re going to need to follow a few basic rules of thumb:

  • Always convert 2s and 4s as quickly as possible. They’re useless if they’re between to high-value tiles. Fill your screen with 8s and 16s as quickly as you can at the start of a round.
  • High-value tiles to the top corner. That’s a rule you need to adhere to in order to do well. Isolate them, but make them easy to get to. Corners are ideal.
  • Use the bottom of the board, particularly the bottom left, to build decently valued tiles. Once they’re high value, ship them diagonally towards the top-right. Rinse and repeat this and you should be fine.

That’s all you need to know, really. Focus on your low value tiles, isolate your high value ones, and play towards one direction as often as possible. You’ll hit 2048 in no time!
