Destiny 2 Ashen Wake: General Reception
Across the internet, fans seem to have a negative to lukewarm perception of Ashen Wake. For the most part, the majority of people feel that it’s not really worth taking up an exotic slot because it doesn’t do anything too impressive.
As far as pros, the generous “explode on impact” range is nice as players don’t have to be perfectly accurate to get the grenade to damage their target. The speed is also cited as a large benefit in situations where it feels like every second counts.
However, at the end of the day the fusion grenade is, well, just that. And a grenade isn’t exactly the best method of attack at a player’s disposal. Additionally, the main complaint is that the grenade doesn’t deal much damage. Splash damage is also something players need to be mindful of when throwing fusion grenades as they explode on impact, giving you no time to escape.
Others claim that when used right the Ashen Wake can be a helpful exotic. At the end of the day it will depend on your playstyle and the game mode you’re playing in.
