Dragon Quest 11 Save Game: How to Save in Dragon Quest 11

Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive Age arrives today on the PS4 and PC. It’s a massive JRPG, easily rivaling that of last year’s Persona 5 in terms of game length, clocking in around 100 hours or so to complete the game. As such, it’s probably logical to say that players will need to do a lot of saving in the game. There are multiple ways of keeping your Dragon Quest 11 save game up to date. Read on below to find out how to save in Dragon Quest 11.

Dragon Quest 11 Save Game: How to Save in Dragon Quest 11

Gamers who aren’t familiar with the Dragon Quest franchise or traditional JRPGs in general will find saving in Dragon Quest 11 a bit strange at first. It won’t be as simple as going into the main menu and choosing the option to save at any time, which is now the norm in most modern games. However, developer Square Enix is keeping this latest installment adhere to its classic roots, albeit with a few quality of life improvements.

One new feature in Dragon Quest 11 is the addition of auto-saves. This is a first for the long-running franchise and one that many gamers would appreciate. Unfortunately, the game’s auto-saves are infrequent, and there could even be hours in-between each autosave, especially if players just spend most of their time in the same place. That’s why it’s certainly not recommended to rely only on autosaves in Dragon Quest 11.

In order to manually save in Dragon Quest 11, players will need to visit sacred statues or churches. Sacred statues can be found in various locations throughout the game’s open world, in camps outside of towns. Meanwhile, the churches are mostly situated in towns and cities.

First, players will have to speak to the priests in churches or simply go to one of those sacred statues. They will be given a variety of options to choose from, but the one for manually saving is at the very top, labeled “Confession.” Just select that option and you’re saving the game. That’s all players have to do to save in Dragon Quest 11, so now go forth and enjoy this masterpiece of a game.
