Everyone loves a bit of Dragon Quest. Square Enix’s classic JRPG series has just hit the PS4 thanks to Dragon Quest 11 Echoes of an Elusive Age. We loved the game in our review, calling it the “ultimate expression of the traditional JRPG” for fans of “who have fallen in love with the genre, and grew up adoring Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, and others.” With such glowing praise from us and most corners of the internet, it’s understandable that owners of the Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch are keen to play the game. Is Dragon Quest 11 coming to Xbox One? What about Dragon Quest 11 PC, or Dragon Quest 11 Switch? We reveal all below.
Dragon Quest 11: Is it Coming to Switch?
Unfortunately, the answer to this one is a little more complicated. The short answer is: yes. Dragon Quest 11 Switch was announced years ago. Indeed, the game was originally announced on PS4 and 3DS, with a Switch port confirmed soon afterwards. The long answer to whether or not it is coming to Switch is: it’s supposed to, but we haven’t seen anything of the port as of yet. Square Enix has promised that the port is still on its way, but have never given a firm answer. Whether the Dragon Quest 11 Switch port is an upgraded 3DS version, or a downgraded PS4 version is yet to be confirmed, either. Despite this, we should be playing Dragon Quest 11 on Switch at some stage.
Dragon Quest 11: Is it Coming to Xbox One?
Currently, Square Enix has no plans to release the Dragon Quest 11 on Xbox One. Typically, the Xbox consoles haven’t performed at all well in Japan. It makes sense that it was developed on PlayStation. Despite this, however, there is always potential that we’ll see the latest Dragon Quest on Xbox One – Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 both are, for example.
Dragon Quest 11: Is it Coming to PC?
While there is no such luck for Dragon Quest on Xbox One, PC owners will be pleased to find out that it is already out on Steam. That’s right, you can head on over to Steam right now and buy, then download the game. This is the first time that a Dragon Quest title has released on PC!
