Epic Games sure knows how to keep us on our toes. Fortnite season 5 was chugging along just fine – then the developers decided to throw a spanner in the works. There’s a new Fortnite High Stakes event on the horizon with a whole bunch of new Fortnite High Stakes Challenges to get excited about, too. Additionally, there’s a Fortnite Wild Card skin to be had and a new Fortnite Getaway LTM on the way. Right now, though, details are thin on the ground, but we might have a few reasonable guesses as to what’s about to go down. Now, who’s saved up their V-Bucks?
What is the Fortnite High Stakes Event?
Epic has taken to Twitter to announce a mysterious new Fortnite High Stakes event starting on the week commencing September 3 and, presumably, ending later in the month
Judging by the tweet itself, the themed event may be along the lines of some sort of heist, especially as the Fortnite Getaway limited time mode and the Wild Card outfit both share some sort of resemblance to a slick bank robber. For now, though, Epic hasn’t confirmed anything else other than the initial tease.

What are the Fortnite High Stakes Challenges?
These are likely to be separate from the Fortnite week 9 challenges that will come out on Thursday, September 6. Expect a bunch of tense challenges based around the idea of pulling off something amid impossible odds. Maybe one particular challenge will have you being the last-man-standing in your squad and still going on to get the win, or you could be entrusted with finding briefcases dotted around the map. Epic has experimented with more “out there” challenges recently, so who knows what it has up its sleeve?
While we don’t know for certain, there is a very high chance we’ll see the first batch of challenges coming our way by September 6.
How to Watch Fortnite High Stakes Event Gameplay:
