Destiny 2 Forsaken Trailer: How to Watch Cayde-6’s Death

Spoiler alert! Well, not exactly. Despite the pretty damning headline, we already knew about Cayde-6’s death well in advance but, with the new Destiny 2 Forsaken trailer Last Stand of the Gunslinger, we’ve finally seen how the gunslinger goes down. It ain’t pretty. Check below for all you need to know on how to watch Cayde-6’s death, especially if you missed today’s Bungie Gamescom Twitch stream, as well as what it might mean for the upcoming Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC.

Cayde-6 is no more. Of course, this being the internet, we can watch it again and again and again until the tears have melted away and all that’s left is a hollow husk where our emotions once were. No, just me? Anyway, you can watch the Destiny 2 Forsaken trailer down below. It’s pretty heartbreaking.

What Does the Destiny 2 Forsaken Trailer Mean?

There’s a few things to take away from this. Firstly, Bungie has finally filled in the gaps from their first Destiny 2 Forsaken reveal which was pretty conclusive in stating that Cayde-6 had met his end. He’s no more, and has effectively been written out of the franchise. He may come back one day (this is only a video game after all), but don’t expect the gobby gunslinger to show up anytime soon.

Additionally, from a story perspective, we’ve been given the exact amount of motivation we need. Frankly, the Destiny lore around the Traveller can be a little too abstract. This is very real and has hit very hard. We want revenge and, hopefully, we’re going to get some. It’s also given us a first real glimpse at the enemies we’ll be up against, too. The Fallen Barons strike quickly and hit even harder. As the Destiny 2 Forsaken trailer proves, we’ll be seriously up against it come September, especially now Cayde-6 doesn’t have our backs. *Sniff*
