For instance, there are many times throughout the story (even early on) that you will have to wait for nighttime or a specific time in order to progress the story to the next part. This will have you wanting to know how to skip time in Shenmue 1 and 2 HD so that you can quickly see the next cutscene.

How to Skip Time in Shenmue HD

Let’s first begin with how to skip time in Shenmue 1. This is the first game in the series and the oldest, meaning that it doesn’t have some of the features that its sequel has. Unfortunately, this means that there is currently no way to pass the time instantly from daytime to nighttime in the game.

This can be extremely frustrating as there are a ton of time-sensitive events that occur. However, there are a couple of ways to make the time pass faster. There are a lot of side activities to do in the game so we recommend checking them out. There are collectibles to find, real SEGA arcade games to play, moves to practice, and more. The quickest way, though, is to open your menu and select the watch. Staring at it passes time a little faster, at least according to Eurogamer. It certainly gives the illusion of passing the time ever so slightly but it isn’t clear if this is true.

How to Skip Time in Shenmue 2 HD

Thankfully, there is a method for how to skip time in Shenmue 2 HD. You don’t have to really worry about this feature in the sequel, though, as major story events that require a certain time will actually give you the option to wait until then. This makes waiting a whole lot easier.
