Capcom just announced the Devil May Cry 5 release date for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This was revealed during Gamescom 2018, Europe’s premiere gaming convention. This seems to be a simultaneous worldwide release date that Capcom is aiming for, allowing all players to begin on an even footing.
The Devil May Cry 5 release date means that fans will finally get to return to the original Dante and Nero’s shoes for the first time since the fourth game released more than a decade ago. Let’s dig in and see when you will be able to kick some demon butt next year.
Devil May Cry 5 Release Date Explained
Capcom announced at Gamescom 2018 that the Devil May Cry 5 release date is March 8, 2019. That means, as expected, players will be able to get their hands on the latest entry in the series early next year. This was all revealed during the latest trailer for the game. That same trailer which, in an added bonus, also showed off Devil May Cry 5 gameplay for the very first time.
In addition to the Devil May Cry 5 release date, attendees at Gamescom 2018 this week also had the first chance in the world to check out the upcoming action game in the very first playable demo. A release date so soon after the initial announcement earlier this summer at E3 2018 is surprisingly sooner than we expected.
The Devil May Cry 5 release date trailer also gave us the first glimpse of Old Man Dante with some sweet new weapons that players will be able to utilize in combat. Most of the trailer, though, focuses on the other protagonist Nero as he zips around areas, quickly dismembering demons and monsters.
Though the Devil May Cry 5 release date is not actually that far into 2019, we still have plenty more to come from Capcom. While we know we will play as Dante and Nero, there is still a mysterious third playable character whose identity hasn’t been revealed.
