It’s been an oft-requested feature for some time, but just how can you get the Fortnite original music back and blasting through your stereo speakers? Thankfully, one fan has made a workaround on Fortnite PC that will allow players to return back to their favorite Fortnite season 1 and season 2 tunes anytime they want whilst playing Fortnite season 5. Pretty nifty, huh?
How to Get Fortnite Original Music Back: What to Download
First things first, a warning: everything you download will be at your own risk, so only do so if you’re feeling comfortable with it.
YouTuber InsaneSlay has a piece of Open Source software that can play the Fortnite original music, like you remember in the good old days… back in January. The download link is in the YouTube description but, again, the liability is your own, folks. Give everything a virus scan if you’re unsure.
How to Get Fortnite Original Music Back: How to Run the Software
There are a couple of things you need to do, aside from running the software, to get the Fortnite original music back.
- PC users only, so you can’t run this on consoles (sorry about that).
- The software needs to be open before launching the Fortnite client.
- The game client needs to be set to 1920×1080. It must not be in stretched mode, but, instead, the “Windowed Full Screen” mode.
- In-game “Music Volume” (which can be found on the “Audio” tab in the game’s options) should be set to 0.00, otherwise game audio will overlap with the OG audio.
That’s all you need to know! Obviously, it’s not an exact science and still very much a work in progress, but it’s as close as we’ll get to having the original music from Fortnite seasons 1 and 2. That’s everything from Victory Royale sounds, to the lobby music, all recreated exactly as you remember it.
