Next month’s Pokemon Go Community Day September Event takes place on September 22, 2018. Each community day puts an emphasis on one Pokemon in particular. Last month it was Eevee and next month it’s Chikorita. Here’s a quick refresher on the what Community Days are, as stated on the Pokemon Go website:
For just a few hours each month, you can encounter a special Pokemon in the wild. During these hours, there’s a chance to learn a previously unavailable move for that Pokemon or its evolution, as well as earn some Community Day bonuses.
The format of the event is always the same. The big difference, month to month, is learning which Pokemon is taking the spotlight.

Pokémon GO Community Day September Event: Chikorita Focus and Trainer Perks
Chikorta, Gen 2’s grass-type starter, will appear in the wild for three hours. Evolving your Bayleef into Meganium during that three-hour event window allows it to learn a special move “to be announced later.” Remember, this move will only be available to Meganium caught or evolved during Community Day so be ready to take advantage and get this exclusive move.
Additionally, you can earn a triple Catch XP multiplier throughout the event which helps speed up the grinding process. For those of you who are eager to clear your schedules in the name of Pokemon, you’re in luck! The Pokemon Go site also lists the next two dates:
- Sunday, October 21, 2018
- Saturday, November 10, 2018
We don’t know what Pokemon will be featured or what bonuses will exist but we’ll update you as soon as we know.
