It’s finally time to begin the Fortnite Season 5 Week 1 challenges, which promise loot and boosts for those dedicated Season 5 Battle Pass owners. With the 5.0 update now installed, you’re ready to grab your freshly-launched Battle Pass and start powering through those objectives! Here are the Week 1 challenges you’ll be wanting to complete, as well as details of the rewards.
Fortnite Season 5 Week 1 Challenges: The Objectives
The Fortnite Season 5 Week 1 challenges are similar to what we’ve seen in the past. Veterans of the game will feel comfortable, I’ve no doubt, while newcomers may take a little time to get used to the challenge grind. Dealing damage with the SMGs should be simply enough, as should searching a supply llama. Clinger, stink bomb, or grenade eliminations should also be easily achieved, so long as you are on target. For the more difficult challenges, we’ll soon have guides up covering those.
- Deal damage with SMGs to opponents – 500
- Search a Supply Llama – 1
- Clinger, Stink Bomb, or Grenade Eliminations – 3 (Hard)
- Search Chests in Snobby Shores – 7
- Search floating Lightning Bolts – 7
- Follow the treasure map found in Risky Reels – 1 (Hard)
- Eliminate Opponents in Retail Row – 3 (Hard)

Fortnite Season 5 Week 1 Challenges: The Rewards
So what exactly do you get for completing the Fortnite Season 5 Week 1 challenges? Well, you get 5 Battle Stars for the regular difficulty challenges, and 10 Battle Stars for those marked “Hard.” If you’ve already hit Tier 100, then you’ll get 500 XP for the regular, and 1,000 XP for the hard. If you managed to complete all seven of the Fortnite Season 5 Week 1 challenges, then you’ll have earned yourself a bonus 5,000 XP.
