Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Thundurus Tornadus: How to Get the Two Legendaries

Wanna catch ’em all? Of course you do, otherwise you wouldn’t be here. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon have recently launched an update to their Year of the Legendary, with generation five legendaries Thundurus and Tornadus being up for grabs for a limited time only. Here’s how to download them in the US, Canada, UK, and Europe. Pay attention, as it varies from region to region.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Thundurus Tornadus: How to Obtain Thundurus (US and Canada)

For Thundurus, you must first have a copy of Ultra Sun or Pokemon Sun, no exceptions.

Those in the US should head to their local Target store to get a code to unlock Tornadus. Canadians don’t have to even leave their house to get their code: it comes with this month’s Pokemon Trainer Club Newsletter.

So, you’ve got your code, right? Boot up your copy of Ultra Sun/Sun and go to the main menu. Click “Mystery Gift” then Get With Code/Password. Simply enter your code, load your save game and head to any Pokemon Center. Talk to the man in the orange shirt to obtain your Thundurus.

UK and Europe have a far easier time to go about getting their legendary. Simply connect to Wi-Fi, go to Mystery Gift on the main menu and click Get via Wi-Fi. That’s it! Load your save game, head to a Pokemon Center and talk to the man in the orange shirt, who will then give you your Thundurus.

See above for the Thundurus method, though you must have a copy of Ultra Moon/Moon to get Tornadus.

Again, see above. It’s nice and simple: you get your Tornadus via Wi-Fi using the above method.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Thundurus Tornadus: End Date(s)

The end dates, strangely, differ for each region. USA and Canada have from July 13 and July 28 to redeem their code.

UK and Europe can redeem via Wi-Fi on July 6 and July 22.
