Welcome to my very first FAQ. Because this is my first time making a FAQ, this FAQ is liable to have flaws in it, so help would be appreciated. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a competitive fighting game that tests one's ability to use characters to battle others. It's mainly for the purpose of fun, yet few people realize that. Brawl is what I will be naming the game by. As Brawl contains Nintendo, Sega, and Konami characters, I do not hold credit for any of the characters in Brawl. All trademarks and copyrights belong to their respective company. Now, in this FAQ I assume that the player already knows how to play. I also assume that those who play the events do not know the character being played with. If I don't tell about the character in the comments, look in GameFAQ's Character FAQs. I would appreciate help from any people willing to help. My e-mail is kirbyfreak13 @ yahoo.com If I don't respond in a while, you can e-mail to my alternate address: s-pali @ lwsd.org Remember to include a subject line (any other than a spam title would work). ==================================================== ==================================================== ==================================================== Solo Events SLEVS ---------------------------------------------------- To go to a specific event, press Ctrl + F, type in SLE then the number of the event (1-9 needs a zero in front of it) -------------------------------------------------- Event 1 - Two Trouble Kings SLE01 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Now there are TWO greedy kings? Having a buddy doesn't change their nature. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: As Mario, you have to battle two haughty kings: Bowser and King Dedede at the same time. If you've got a bit of experience of Smash, this event shouldn't be too hard, even at Hard difficulty. - Try to split the pair up; never let them surround you at both sides. - Use a lot of Smash attacks; launching them can give you a chance to attack the other guy. - Don't take too much time on one enemy. -------------------------------------------------- Event 2 - Landmaster Ignition SLE02 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Slippy! Send me a Landmaster! Show them Star Fox's Final Smash! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Very easy event. Your goal as Fox is to survive from Shiek and Meta Knight. The advantage is that you are gifted a Final Smash right at the beginning. Every time the Final Smash ends, you are given another one, free. The disadvantage is that Meta Knight and Shiek are powered up, and a hit from them is almost instant death. - At the beginning, use the Final Smash right away. You're invincible while in this state, so go nuts at the enemies. - There's a slight pause between Final Smashes; use that time to avoid the enemies before you use your next. - In case you don't know how to use the Landmaster, Attack and Special button will fire the laser, Jump will cause the tank to hover, and Tap Down will make the tank roll. Hold the jump to keep the tank flying. -------------------------------------------------- Event 3 - Pink Ball Repulsion SLE03 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Kirby must not board the Halberd! Repel him so the plan can succeed! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: As Meta Knight, you must not allow Kirby to take foot into the Halberd. You are given two lives, while Kirby is given one. The time it takes to defeat Kirby isn't long; about 45 seconds - 1 minute. - Meta Knight's attacks aren't that strong, but are really quick. Use that to rack up damage quickly. - Don't try to do anything fancy. Unless you know what you're doing, novices tend to lose control with him. Be patient (hard to say that) and don't overlook anything. - Always pursue. Even if Kirby is offstage, keep pursuing the enemy. Kirby has great jump ability, making his chance of getting back to the stage great. Meta Knight can fly, so use the midair jumps to attack him in the air. -------------------------------------------------- Event 4 - Cleaning House in Skyworld SLE04 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Destroy all the breakable terrain to remodel Skyworld! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Think it's easy? Well it is. Just as the objective says, you need to destroy all the platforms you are able to break. The moving platform is an exception. Because you're in Skyworld, your character is Pit. - Don't worry about the enemy too much. If Wario gets in your way of destruction, just rack up some damage (40-60%), then launch him using a Smash. - Use the down attacks often when on the platforms. When you're below platforms, use aerial attacks. Down Smash works effectively against the platforms. - Wings of Icarus probably won't be used, but here's how it works: once the move starts, you can use the control pad/stick to move in the direction you want (up goes high, down goes low, etc.). -------------------------------------------------- Event 5 - Become the Champion! SLE05 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: The final Pokémon-tournament challenge. Do you Pokémon match up?! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: A battle between two Pokémon trainers. There are no special rules; just a regular Brawl. Each of you have two lives, and you aren't restricted to certain Pokémon. Relatively simple if you know Pokémon trainer's moves well. - If you don't know how to use Pokémon trainer, his moves work differently for each Pokémon. Squirtle's agile, but light and weak. Ivysaur is fairly strong, but relatively slow. Charizard is powerful and agile in the air; he's slow on the ground. - Squirtle should be used to work around opponent's defenses. With his agility, he is able to prevent his opponent's moves to connect. - Ivysaur is the best anti-air I know of. His Bullet Seed can deal a whopping 80% at max. - Charizard should be used to finish opponents off. His attacks are more than enough to send characters flying. - Don't change Pokémon too often. If you have a Pokémon out, stick to that one; changing Pokémon leaves a moment of immobility, leaving you open. You may do it occasionally, or when the opponent is dead. -------------------------------------------------- Event 6 - Super Bowser Bros. SLE06 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Want to see what it's like to be Mario? Survive as you race to the flag! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: What a witty title. Anyway, all you need to do is travel to the goal in Mushroomy Kingdom as Bowser. Sounds easy, and is pretty easy, unless you cannot use Bowser at all. The catch is, the screen doesn't scroll at a leisurely pace; it's rather fast. - Ignore the enemies completely. Pretend if they're not there or something. They will slow you down if you try to fight them. - Use Whirling Fortress a lot, as it can travel great horizontal distances. It can also get rid of the Marios that are on you tail. -------------------------------------------------- Event 7 - Diddy Kong Panic SLE07 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: So many angry little Diddy Kongs. Did they lose a race or something? My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: I have no idea why it had to be Diddy Kong. You're Donkey Kong, fighting miniature Diddy Kongs. Unless you're absolutely ignorant, you know that being mini reduces attack power and weight. However, you're less of a target, which means it's hard to hit them. - The Diddy Kongs don't fly off the screen if you Smash them. They may be small, but they have resistance. Use the Down Smash a lot, and sometimes the Side Smash. Aerial attacks work well too, somewhat. - It's very easy to lose patience in this event, with trying to chase the Diddys and all. Take it slow, and don't rush the chasing. This doesn't mean you can't run; what I'm saying is to be alert. Use your reflexes to predict your opponent's next spot. - Items help a lot. If one appears, go over to it and use it. If it's a bludgeoning item, throw it; usually it never hits the Diddys when you use the item. -------------------------------------------------- Event 8 - Go! Triple Finish! SLE08 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard appear all at once in a Pokémon battle royale! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event can get annoying if you're not careful. This may take more than one try; it certainly took me more than one. So you're up against three Pokémon: Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard. All at the same time. Sounds impossible? Calm down. You're Pikachu with two lives; it may not seem fair, and it may seem like you need help. Keep reading then. - Pikachu is relatively light, which means you cannot attack recklessly. Try to plan every move; don't hesitate to launch an attack. - Use Thunder often. It's a very effective move to catch all three enemies and split them. Being surrounded by them is the worst that can happen. It's even better if the Thunder hits Pikachu, as if an enemy is near Pikachu; the Thunder is boosted and attacks all nearby opponents. - Run away if you think you're being ganged up. As I said before, being surrounded is the worst possible scenario. -------------------------------------------------- Event 9 - The Monster Beneath the Earth SLE09 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: A fearsome beast awaits you in the dungeon. Pray you settle things before you see it. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Who is the fearsome beast? If you look at the event pic, you'll know. Yeah, it's Donkey Kong. With that in mind, you'll know who you'll "settle things" with. It's Diddy Kong. Better yet, you're up against two! Could it be more fun? By the way, you're Ike. - The dungeon is the place where it looks like hell. Your goal is to defeat your two enemies before you go to hell. I've never seen the beast myself, so I don't know what it's like fighting him. - Ike is a slow, but strong fighter. He's cool, but always overlooked. You'll need to be patient to use him effectively. - Use strong moves such as the Smash moves to launch the Diddys. It's good to rack up damage, then use aerial attacks to keep the combo. You'll have to time everything for the attacks to connect. -------------------------------------------------- Event 10 - All-Star Battle Regulars SLE10 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: The Smash Bros. perfect-attendance crew! Fight the eight regulars in order! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: So, you're up against Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, and Pikachu, in that respective order described. Like the previous game, Melee, you have two lives, and you can choose your own character, but unlike Melee, you don't change stages. - This event tests your endurance on enemies. You fight two opponents at a time. Like the first event, always pick off one fighter at a time. Never let them surround you, and don't be aggressive. Instead, be highly evasive, yet close to the enemy. Dodge a lot, shield a lot, do whatever to keep the damage meter low. - Again, use Smash attacks often. Launching opponents give chances for you to assault the other enemy. -------------------------------------------------- Event 11 - Yoshi's Rainbow SLE11 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Yoshis everywhere! Beat'em in order: red, pink, yellow, green, pale blue, blue. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Ice Climbers. Of all people to be to play this event. If you know of the N64 Smash Bros., the second Classic stage is much like this event. You must defeat the colors /in order/, in the colors of the rainbow. If you mess up the order, you fail. If you don't remember the order, just remember the rainbow colors (ROYGBIV, with the exception of pink) and you should be fine. - Pursue the one next in order. Don't worry about the other enemy. Keep in mind that it's easy to launch the Yoshis. - Try to keep Nana safe. You only have one life, so if you lose Nana, you've already made the event harder. You cannot gain her back. If she is in trouble, make sure you run to her before pursuing the next enemy. -------------------------------------------------- Event 12 - Sleeping in the Eggs SLE12 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: These two can't seem to settle down. Maybe they will if you put them in eggs. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event is pretty weird, and I've seen weird events. As Yoshi, you are supposed to use Egg Lay (neutral Special) to imprison them. The event can be very long, but it can also be very short. Depends on how lucky you are. - Try to get Pikachu and Kirby close together. If one enemy gets captured, you can immediately get the next one with no hassle. Lure both to an edge, then use the move. - Keep in mind that even if you get Kirby or Pikachu imprisoned, they can free themselves in time. So don't think that you've finished the event with just one captured. Be quick. - Don't bother with fighting the enemies. No explanation needed. -------------------------------------------------- Event 13 - Dragoon Strike SLE13 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Reunite the three parts of Dragoon! Aim well to launch your enemies! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Dragoon is an item in which you must collect the three pieces. They're pretty easy to spot; it's the only ones that appear, after all. As Kirby, you must gather the pieces, then once they're all gathered, use its striking ability to eliminate the Warios. - The Dragoon is capable of killing enemies in one hit, so don't worry about damaging the opponents prior to the Dragoon. - You'll have to aim well to hit the opponents, and hope that they don't dodge (doubtful). Use the movement pad/stick to aim, then fire with the attack button. Try to score multiple kills. - If a Wario manages to grab a piece, don't worry. You can get it back by attacking the one with the piece. Eventually they will drop it. -------------------------------------------------- Event 14 - Sproutage of the Flower Pikmin SLE14 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: In time, Pikmin blossom. Guard the six Pikmin until they all bloom into flowers! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event really tests your evasive abilities. Like the objective says, the Pikmin sprout in time. When they will sprout, I don't know. - Always jump. Keep jumping, and always use the midair jump. I cannot stress this enough. - Obviously, avoid the enemy. Don't worry about them. No explanation needed, correct? -------------------------------------------------- Event 15 - The Hammer of the King SLE15 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: We are the three Dededes! It's King Dedede times three! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This is the first solo event in where you have computer allies. You're King Dedede with two King Dedede allies facing a metal, giant King Dedede. Talk about cloning. Anyway, you're all with one life, and it doesn't matter if your allies die. - Let your allies do some of the dirty work. You don't have to defeat the enemy by yourself; that's why there's allies. Be sure to use items and the side Special often, and take the opportunity to pitch in a few Smashes. - Try to force the enemy in the air. If the enemy is in the air, the weight of the metal will bring him down quickly. If he's over the pit, he will most likely die. Try to lure him into that scenario. -------------------------------------------------- Event 16 - Power Suit ON! SLE16 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Quickly! Regain the Power Suit you lost. You'll need a Smash Ball to do it. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: You're Zero Suit Samus facing off two Zero Suit Samuses (spelt correctly?) at the same time. You can defeat your opponents if you want and still win, but it's much quicker the other way. What is it? Use a Smash Ball and turn into Samus. - Fight your opponents as if it were a regular Brawl. There probably would be enough time for you to survive (two lives each player). - If you find a Smash Ball, by all means pursue it. The others will try and get it to, so if it goes your way use the chance to take it. -------------------------------------------------- Event 17 - Super Waterfall Climb SLE17 -------------------------------------------------- Objective; I want to climb a waterfall at high speed. Why? Because it's there. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: As Zelda, you're stuck at Rumble Falls trying to climb a waterfall. What that really means is that you have to keep climbing till the stage performs one revolution. - Don't worry about the enemies. - Use the up Special move a lot. It has a great recovery distance, and makes up for her lacking jumping ability. -------------------------------------------------- Event 18 - Dark Link Duel SLE18 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: A predestined battle with the dark Link. Nowhere to run, but no one in the way. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Probably one of my favorite events. You're Link, facing off against Link, specifically the dark Link. The only catch to this is that the mode isn't in Stock; rather, it's in Stamina mode (if you don't know what it is, it's the HP ordeal). You're both set to 200 HP, and whoever gets to 0 HP first falls and dies. - Perform rolls after attacks to perform quick, sneaky maneuvers. This will prevent Dark Link to be able to coordinate precisely your position. - Try not to perform stale moves. You'd want the most damage done to your opponent, and stale moves does not do that. - Use projectiles to keep your opponent at bay. If he gets close, you can start attacking regularly. -------------------------------------------------- Event 19 - Wario Bros. SLE19 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: I came to find the Mario Bros.' roots. What's this giant stage? My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: What's this? A new stage, perhaps? Anyway, you're Wario, fighting off against Mario and Luigi. No, you don't get Luigi from this event. I'm guessing you get the stage itself from it; I never played this event. Because of this, I'm going to just assume these advices. - Try to lure Mario and Luigi to the edge of the stage. Once they're there, try throwing them off or launching them to the edge, scoring easy kills. Just be careful you don't die off the edge. - You can use the Koopas' shells to hit the brothers. Moreover, it does high damage, so one shell could almost guarantee a kill. -------------------------------------------------- Event 20 - All-Star Battle x 1 SLE20 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Challengers approaching! Fight eight Brawl newcomers in all! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Same thing as Event 10; fight 8 enemies, choose your own character, start with 2 lives, you know the rest. The enemies are: Wario, Meta Knight, Pit, Zero Suit Samus, Olimar, Lucas, Diddy Kong, and Pokémon Trainer. By the way, Pokémon Trainer counts as one person. - Just use the same strategies as the All-Star Battle Regular event. -------------------------------------------------- Event 21 - Visit to Onett SLE21 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: In the legendary boy's town, even one as timid as I could become a warrior. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- walkthrough: A simple brawl between Lucas and Ness in Onett. No special rules, no special conditions, it's pretty simple. You each start with two lives. - Keep attacking Ness. Ness's attacks may seem weaker, but are quicker than Lucas’s. By pursuing him and connecting his attacks on him, you're preventing him to land a blow on you. Don't be too reckless into getting hit by Ness too many times or a rampaging car. - Use the car as an advantage to rack up damage, or scoring KOs. From past experience, I know that it can deal more than 30% damage. Again, be careful you don't get caught in the crash. -------------------------------------------------- Event 22 - Monkeys Unite! SLE22 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Donkey Kong is under attack! Defeat his opponent! My Record: Walkthrough: Even I had trouble on this one. In Hard, Diddy Kong is very light, and a simple attack from the enemy (Shiek and Lucario) can send you flying and get killed. Anyway, you're allies with a giant Donkey Kong, all people with two lives. Your goal is to defeat the enemies. - Stay away from the enemies. If you try to fight them, you won't do significant damage, and you'll just get blown off the stage. - Use items to help defeat the enemies. Sometimes, it can become a great assistance, and sometimes it may hinder you. You'll just have to be lucky. - All in all, you just got to have a little luck and patience to win the event. I obviously didn't have much luck, thus the many retries. -------------------------------------------------- Event 23 - Molten Norfair SLE23 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Get inside the safety capsule before your foes to survive the lava of Norfair. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Pretty hard if you don't already know how to dodge well. You are controlling Samus, battling against Fox and Captain Falcon. All of you have 300% to begin with, and you're stuck with two lives. However, the enemies have infinite lives. Norfair is a lot like Brinstar, and if you touch the lava you're most guaranteed dead. - Jump from one end of the platforms to the other. If you're in the air, you're less likely to get hit by the enemies. Plus, with your jumping abilities, you can easily travel from one end to the other. - Once the capsule appears, wait a little before going in. If you get there early, there's quite a high chance that you'll get hit while inside the capsule, thus dying. No, you don't win while you're on the revive platform. Wait a little, go to the capsule, smack the enemies, and hope to get in before the lava overflows. -------------------------------------------------- Event 24 - Come On, Blue Falcon SLE24 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Dawdle too much and the race will end! Ride the Blue Falcon to victory! Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event is much like the second event: destroy the enemies with your final Smash. The differences are that your enemies are two R.O.B.'s, both non-buffed. Your goal is different as well; instead of surviving, you must defeat both enemies in an allotted time using the Blue Falcon. - Captain Falcon's Final Smash isn't that strong; however it is able to send opponents flying easily at mid-damage. With that in mind, be sure to rack up damage before going for the Smash Ball. - Captain Falcon's Final Smash is a one-time chance move. If you hit your enemy with the Blue Falcon, you can attack the enemy; however, if you don't hit it in the first hit, you don't attack. It's best to hit both R.O.B.'s at the same time, but you'd have to be lucky to be able to perform that. So aim well before performing the Final Smash. - The event fails if the platform go around the whole racing track once. -------------------------------------------------- Event 25 - The Aura is With Me SLE25 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: When pushed to the limit, his power grows! Fight as Lucario at lethal damage! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: I was lucky when I won this one. I didn't know how to use Lucario back then. Still don't know much about him, but at least I can give some advice about him and the event. - Go inside the cave. It provides a better shelter and a higher chance of living along with a good location to charge Aura Sphere. Be careful of the occasional beam as well, it can pack quite a beating if you're in it. - Use Lucario's range as a weapon. His Smash attacks have quite a range compared to other fighters, and distance is your key to winning this event. Aura Sphere works great too, so use it often. -------------------------------------------------- Event 26 - The Slow and Easy Life SLE26 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: You want to enjoy K.K. Slider's show. But those guys keep gettin' in the way... My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event, unlike other 20-30 events, is really easy. It just can get annoying sometimes. As Ness, you must defeat three tiny Olimars. A time limit is there to make you hurry (2:14, of all numbers why 14 seconds). - Ness's down Smash sucks. It doesn't do much damage, and it doesn't launch. However, you would think it's your only move to go against the Olimars. You can use the Side Smash and aerial attacks as well to help. - Don't stress about doing anything special. All you need to do is kill the Olimars. That's it. -------------------------------------------------- Event 27 - Three-Beast Carnage SLE27 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Three beasts are in the tyrant's town! Facing them is a lone figure...R.O.B. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Another one of the events that give me a hard time. As R.O.B., you're facing one giant Bowser, one giant Charizard, and one giant Donkey Kong, with all players with one life. The enemies can attack each other although they're programmed to be a team. Lastly, you're in New Pork City. - The Chimera will be your greatest weapon and/or demise. It can even deal more than 100% damage to giant enemies, thus an instant kill. Lure the enemies to the Chimera when it appears, but be very careful not to get caught in its bite. - Stay around the bottom platforms. Destroy the breakable door to help with the demise of the enemies. - Don't try to solo the enemies by yourself. You can't do it. You can try it ONLY IF there is one enemy left. You can try to solo two, but I wouldn't risk it though. -------------------------------------------------- Event 28 - Flower Blooms in the Echoes SLE28 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Wrapped in sound waves, flowers of joy bloom. Make all the leaves on the right tree red! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This one can get tedious. What you're supposed to do is that you have to turn the /middle/ tree's leaves, the one in the center of the stage, into the color red. With each attack it turns from green, to yellow, to orange, to red. In time, it goes backwards in the process. You're Peach going against Olimar and his Pikmin. The stage is Hanenbow, which you unlock after completing this event. - Don't kill Olimar too early. He can help with the event if you manipulate him correctly. The little bugs that come from the sides can also help too. - Peach's down Smash move is effective for turning the leaves to red. Try performing it at the stem to hit both leaves. - Be quick on your feet. The red leaves' color don't last long. That's how it can be frustrating. -------------------------------------------------- Event 29 - All-Star Semifinal Regulars SLE29 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Four hidden characters from the past game! They're secret perfect attendees. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Same as the other All-Star events. You're up against Luigi, Captain Falcon, Ness, Jigglypuff...and that's it. Yep, only four people this time. You still have two lives, so if you've done the other events (which you should have), it should be a guaranteed win. - Again, follow the same strategies as the other All-Star events. - Be careful of the middle pit. It's been notorious for countless unintended deaths. -------------------------------------------------- Event 30 - Sonic Boom SLE30 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Hey, guys! Is this some kind of joke? Isn't one Sonic enough? My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: A nice way of introducing the 30-41 events. Pretty easy event; you're Sonic at Green Hill Zone, fighting against 15 miniature Sonics. If you completed Classic mode, this is the same thing as the Multi-Man Stage. - Perform dash attacks often. It serves as a great combo starter and can be easily connected to a Smash if timed correctly. - Be aggressive on the little Sonics. They're lightweight, so they'll fly far. -------------------------------------------------- Event 31 - The Ultimate Bodyguard SLE31 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Ganondorfs attack Zelda as she focuses! Protect her at all costs! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Gets harder, but not much harder. Pretty easy if you can use Marth. As him, you're up against two Ganondorfs, while defending Zelda, who sits stupidly during the battles, pretending to "focus." What a load of BS. Also, both you and Zelda have one life while the Ganondorfs have two. - If you read the Dojo, you know that Marth does more damage at the tip of his sword. It's best to get cornered to an edge; it's a perfect scenario to manipulate distance. Use the side Smash to fend off the Ganondorfs, then follow up with some juggling moves (Up Tilt A, aerial attacks, etc.). - Zelda won't be focusing forever. At about the time you arrive at the "underworld," Zelda will transform into Shiek. If her damage isn't high, you shouldn't worry about her; otherwise keep supporting her. - Use Marth's agility as your advantage. Ganondorf is pretty slow; much compared to Melee. If Ganondorf uses a move that takes time, i.e. Warlock Punch, use Counter to send him flying. -------------------------------------------------- Event 32 - Bird in Darkest Night SLE32 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: What's happening? It's getting darker! Today just isn't my lucky day. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This is a brawl between Falco and Mr. Game and Watch (abb. GaW), both with two lives at hand. You're stuck in Brinstar, which was brought back from Melee. The only catch to this event is that everything goes black; only the characters can be seen. - Before the screen turns black, there is a little time of fading; use that time to get acquainted with your position. If you know Brinstar well, you can tell where you are. If not, you might have a hard time. - If you feel like you're falling, use the full jump (don't use Up + B while in the air) then the Up + B move. - If you never used Falco in Brawl, he's a lot different than in Melee. His attacks don't have as much launching power as they used to; this means you have to accumulate more damage. Barrage GaW with varying attacks. -------------------------------------------------- Event 33 - Advent of the Evil King SLE33 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: The king of evil wants the Triforce, but the fated pair have help from above. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: And you'd think you would play as one of the three. I thought so too. But you're not. You're Ganondorf facing three guys, each with one life. Who they are shouldn't really matter; it's pretty obvious anyways. Luckily, you have two lives to back you up. - Go into the cavern below. It's the best defense you got against the threesome. How? If you get knocked about, you can't die down nor up. The only way to die is to be launched left and sometimes right. It's pretty fun to watch Ganondorf with more than 400% damage get wadded around like paper. - Ganondorf is slow, but really strong. To use him well, you've got to be patient. Some of his moves are quick, but don't rely only on those moves. Use a variety of speedy and strong moves. - Items will help you the most in this event. If you find one that will help you, get it without sacrificing yourself. -------------------------------------------------- Event 34 - All-Star Battle Melee SLE34 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: It's the eight challengers from Melee! What's different between then and now? My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Not much I'd say. Again, you're up against eight challengers, with two lives and your choice of character. Not much different from the other events, again. Do I need to repeat myself? -------------------------------------------------- Event 35 - The Visitor to Flat Zone SLE35 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Can anyone move well in this flat world? Maybe an ally?! Maybe not... My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: So, you're GaW, fighting against silhouettes of Peach, Toon Link, and Jigglypuff. In Flat Zone 2, your goal is to defeat all three by yourself. I'm not sure whether Team Attack is on, but if someone e-mail me about that it would be appreciated. - This is where the throw comes in handy. This stage has very short boundaries, so it's very easy for someone to die. Stay at the edge of the stage and keep pressing the Grab button. Once you got an enemy, throw him/her to the edge, scoring an easy kill. - Once you're down to one enemy, you can solo the enemy easy. Just don't go overboard and kill yourself. -------------------------------------------------- Event 36 - High-Tech Special Forces SLE36 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Colonel: Snake, Intel shows FOXHOUND has hired three bounty hunters to kill you. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Wow! Three guys out to murder Snake! The adrenaline is pumping through my ve-no. The three opponents are Wolf, Samus, and Captain Falcon. Two lives give fighting these people as Snake a chance. - The stage is Shadow Moses Island. The two pillars will definitely help you survive. However, it restricts you to kill the enemy upward unless the pillars get destroyed. The pillars can also help corner your enemy; use advantage of that situation as much as possible. - Lay lots of mines and C4s. Don't bother charging the mines; it'll leave you open longer. The C4 should be used even if you're on it; the risk will depend on the number of people on it. - The Side Smash packs quite a punch, but shouldn't be used many times. It takes a while to prepare, and doesn't work half the time. Usually at solos does it work. -------------------------------------------------- Event 37 - The Pirate Airship SLE37 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Your chance comes when the whirlwind lifts the pirate ship. Finish it in the sky! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event was easy for me probably because I'm super good with Toon Link. Other players, it may be one of the hardest events. As Toon Link (duh), you have to fight two Yoshis and finish them off either in the clouds or above the clouds. If you defeat them below the clouds, they just come back, 0% damage. - Toon Link is much lighter than Link and has more sword attacks. This makes it great for pursuit. Try to keep the Yoshis high in the air, but not off the stage; an easy way to do this is to use aerial moves other than the up move. The down aerial can be a Meteor Smash when the attack just starts. When the damage is high, you can wait it out or pursue the other Yoshi. - The Up Smash and aerial moves are great to finish off a Yoshi with high damage. -------------------------------------------------- Event 38 - The Wolf Hunts the Fox SLE38 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Wolf will be the one to finish you! It's Star Fox's final battle. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: You play as Wolf with two lives against Fox and Falco. Nothing special here. - Because you're against two people at the same time, it's recommended you stay at the edge. While doing that, fend off Fox and Falco with side Smashes or anything to launch them to keep them at bay. - Items will help a lot in this event. Use whatever you can to deal damage; trust me, it helps. -------------------------------------------------- Event 39 - All-Star Battle x 2 SLE39 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: It's even more new Brawl challengers! There's a total of eight. Defeat them all. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: No comment needed. - Same strategy. - Keep in mind that in Skyworld, you cannot go through the platforms unless you destroyed them. Not doing that will make you die faster. -------------------------------------------------- Event 40 - The Final Battle SLE40 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Bowser, King Dedede, and Ganondorf...A battle with the bossiest of bosses! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: You get to choose your own character to battle these three. You're with two lives with each enemy with one. Fairly simple, but easy to get side tracked. With that in mind, don't go too aggressively towards the enemy. - Keep the enemies separated. Use Smashes to launch them off their position so that you can pick off fighters one at a time. - The recovery move can be helpful when enemies are guarding the edge. You probably knew that, but if you didn't, here you go. Not much to say in this event. It's the final battle, and not much strategy is involved. -------------------------------------------------- Event 41 - The FINAL Final Battle SLE41 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: It's the REAL final battle! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Wait, so that wasn't the final battle, that last event? Oh my god! I obviously didn't know that! So, it looks like you're up against the mascots of Nintendo, Sega, and Konami (for you idiorts who don't know, it's Mario, Sonic, and Snake.) And damn, is this one hard event. All of you are gifted with three lives. Oh yeah, Mario is giant for some odd reason *coughNintendocough*. - Use Ike. I highly suggest you use him. His Aether move is /very/ helpful with advancing towards the enemy. If you use him, keep in mind that timing is what Ike is all about. Time your moves right and you can pack serious damage to any opponent. - Go after Mario first. His attacks may be stronger than Sonic's and Snake's, but he tends to fall either fast or stupidly. Once you get Mario's lives to 0, go for Snake. His moves may be slow, but they're ranged; enough to send you flying. Sonic shouldn't be worried about; he's very weak due to his insane speed. - If you ever feel that you're in trouble, fall off the edge and use Aether to go back up. The spinning sword would do some damage to the enemies and split them apart, giving you a chance to strike. ==================================================== ==================================================== ==================================================== Co-Op Events COEVS ---------------------------------------------------- To go to a specific event, press Ctrl + F, type in COE then the number of the event (1-9 needs a zero in front of it) -------------------------------------------------- Event 1 - Two Trouble Kings COE01 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Now there are TWO greedy kings? Having a buddy doesn't change their natures. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: I'm just going to copy Solo's event into here, and add a little extra to fill in Kirby's part. As Mario, you have to battle two haughty kings: Bowser and King Dedede at the same time. - Kirby is light in the air and works well with aerial attacks. Keep him in the air and he should do fine against enemies. Keep in mind that if in the air, you're more susceptible to being killed. -------------------------------------------------- Event 2 - Master the Pokémon Tag Battle COE02 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: The Pokémon tournament's final challenge. Your rivals have the same Pokémon! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Unlike its solo twin, this event is much easier now that you're evenly matched. It's Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, and Pikachu against Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard, and Pikachu. Same people against each other. - Pikachu is relatively light, which means you cannot attack recklessly. Try to plan every move; don't hesitate to launch an attack. -------------------------------------------------- Event 3 - Fastest, Shortest, Sudden Death COE03 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Only ten seconds left?! Beat as many foes as you can in Super Sudden Death and live! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Calm down. Despite its attempt to scare you, this event isn't at all that bad. As Yoshi and King Dedede, you can defeat as many enemies as you want. The main point is that you must survive given all of you are at 300% damage. - Normally, I would tell you to jump all over the place. However, it's better to stay in one place and toss projectiles from that position. Yoshi has Egg Throw (Up + B), and Dedede has Waddle Dee Throw (Side + B). - Dedede's jump can go high, and it's good for evasive maneuvers. Use it in the 10 seconds given. -------------------------------------------------- Event 4 - The DK Tag Calamity COE04 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: DK and Diddy got tiny! Use lightning to help deal the final blow! my Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event is pretty annoying, even if you know what you're doing. You're tiny DK and Diddy, fending off normal-sized Diddys and a normal-sized DK. Lightning appears on the battlefield every now and then. To activate it, you must pick it up. - If lightning appears anywhere, by all means go for it. It's your only chance to compete against the enemies. The others will try to go for it too, so keep that in mind. - Not always does lightning benefit the one who grabbed it. Four scenarios can occur: - The enemy of the grabber reduces in size. - The enemy of the grabber increases in size. - The grabber increases in size. - The grabber decreases in size. Although the first possibility is the one that happens the most, you never know what will happen when you grab a Lightning. Be alert for any case. - If you do get smaller, run away till you grow back into your original size. The enemies have the potential to kill you easily in your regular state; when smaller, the potential becomes greater. - In general, team up on one enemy. If the enemy's ally interferes, have one person take care of the interference, then go back to teaming up. Works well I might add. -------------------------------------------------- Event 5 - The Yoshi Team of 50 COE05 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: It's a mountain of Yoshis! Take care of them all before completing one lap. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Boy is this one hard. Not because of the enemies, but of the time limit and number of enemies. I usually end up running out of time. Luckily for you, I'll give detailed pieces of advice to help you. - On the ship, have Meta Knight go on the highest platform. Keep using the Up + A move (spinning his sword); it can kill the Yoshis easy. In the meantime, Pit can look for items to help and take out the Yoshis who manage to survive. Meta Knight has to focus on his Up + A-ing. By the time the ship falls, you should have 15 down. - Once the ship falls, you can do whatever you feel. Pit generally doesn't have many attacks that can simply launch. All of his combo attacks have to connect to be able to launch; this includes most of his moves. Meta Knight has the same problem, but he has less combo moves. Use Pit to launch the Yoshis in the air, if not kill them. Use Meta Knight to finish them in the air. - The Cracker Launcher is very helpful in this event. When firing, you don't necessarily have to aim; it will hit them eventually, so just fire at will. - Bluntly speaking, you'll need some luck to win this event. The items will make a complete difference between a loss and a win. -------------------------------------------------- Event 6 - Unwanted Suitors COE06 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: What do those guys want, anyway? Chase'em off, will ya? My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Zelda's an *******. Yep. You're Zelda and Zero Suit Samus (abb. ZSS), facing off against, I dunno, Luigi and Captain Falcon? I can't tell, they're invisible. That's right, you're gonna have to fight them invisible. Hard, no? Luckily, they picked people that are good against invisible people. - Zelda herself isn't very good at battling invisible enemies. Her projectiles (in either form) are your only key to distinguish the enemy's position. Use it often and try to support ZSS. - ZSS, however, is perfect for this type of event. She has moves that are able to hit an enemy at a wide range. Her Side Smash is able to attack all around her; good for defense. Her Down Smash paralyzes the opponent, thus giving you a chance to perform a finishing move. - Instead of using the items, you should throw them to increase your range of attack. - Keep attacking; you never know what the opponent will do while you're defense- less. -------------------------------------------------- Event 7 - Battle of the Dark Sides COE07 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: A predestined battle with dark sides. Nowhere to run, but no on in the way. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Same as Link's dark battle event, only with Samus and Dark Samus added to the fray. The strategies are much the same. If either one gets close, you can start attacking regularly. - Have Link attack Link and Samus attack Samus. Link versus Samus makes Link at a disadvantage due to his slow nature. Samus can easily outrun Link with her quick moves. -------------------------------------------------- Event 8 - All MINE! COE08 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Money! Money makes the world go round! Gather 2,000 coins and eat something good! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: No, you don't eat something good. Sorry. Anyway, this is a simple coin match in which both you and your partner gather 2,000 coins /together/. For ignorant people, both your numbers have to add to at least 2,000. Moreover, if you die, the event fails, unlike brawls where your coin number gets deducted in half. - Go absolutely berserk on the enemies. Higher damage will spit out more coins and dollars. - Bowser is an easy coin generator. His attacks are quite powerful in that they can produce a decent number of dollars each time he does something powerful. Again, go berserk. -------------------------------------------------- Event 9 - Those Who Wait in Onett COE09 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: A green combo has descended on Onett. And they don't seem to be leaving. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: In case you don't know who the green combo is, it's Yoshi and Luigi. As the two kids from Earthbound, Lucas and Ness, you must defeat the "green combo" in a Brawl. Each of you have two lives; it's a plain ol' Brawl event. - Lucas tends to be more powerful than Ness, despite his cowardly nature. Use him to finish foes off. Ness's only attack that can launch is his home-run bat (Side Smash). - Lucas's strong moves tend to have a lot of lag in them; while in this state, he is vulnerable to attacks. If he is in trouble, support him with Ness using PK Flash or some other big attack. -------------------------------------------------- Event 10 - The R.O.B.'s of Tomorrow COE10 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: It's normally a pretty small robot...Is this even possible? My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: As Lucario and Ice Climbers, you must defeat 5 R.O.B.'s in the stage Summit. The only catch to this event is that the R.O.B.'s appear one at a time, and each time one is defeated, a R.O.B. larger than the prior will be summoned. The very last R.O.B. is a normal R.O.B. - As you move on to the third and fourth R.O.B.'s, their weight starts to get heavier and heavier. You'll have to do more and more damage as they go by. - This stage is a lot like Big Blue in that if you touch the bottom, whether it be water or mountain, you'd most likely die. Try to stay up on the high platforms and try to hit R.O.B. into the bottom. Ice Climbers have few Meteor Smashes, so use those to your advantage. - On the bigger ones, have Lucario take some damage, but not too much; 75-90% would be good enough. This will make Lucario stronger, and possibly have the potential to launch the enemy. I'm going to type ROB instead of R.O.B. from now on. -------------------------------------------------- Event 11 - The Great Remodeling Battle COE11 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Finally time for that remodel! Nab 300 coins without damaging the house. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Damn is this event annoying. You're Luigi and Peach going against Marth and Ike. The stage is Luigi's Mansion, and most likely after this event you'll have a newfound hate for this stage. The pillars support parts of the house; your goal is to prevent that /and/ gain 300 coins. - The reason why this is annoying is because of Ike. Marth's fine, I'm thinking. Ike deliberately tries to destroy the pillars. Marth wanders off, minding his own business. - Lead Ike and/or Marth either on the roof of the mansion or off to the sides. This will prevent the enemies from attacking the pillars. - Once an enemy dies, have Luigi go on the rooftop and Peach stay at the sides. Peach is good to keep the opponent from going back; Luigi is good at brawling in general. -------------------------------------------------- Event 12 - Come Back, Falcon Flyer! COE12 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Land the final blow before the Falcon Flyer leaves...in about thirty seconds! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: In case you didn't know, the Falcon Flyer is the yellow/blue aircraft that looks like a falcon. As Captain Falcon and Olimar, you are to defeat two Samuses, with everyone at one life. You must defeat them in 30 seconds. If /both/ players die, the event fails. - Big Blue is notorious for its bottom road; once you step foot on it, you're left behind. With cars going at high speeds and you at no speed, you're pretty much dead. Try to lure them to the road, but don't get yourself killed by that road. - If you don't play Olimar, here are some tips: always keep your Pikmin count at 6. His attacks depend on the Pikmin, and sometimes the number of it. Keeping a high number will be able to support you through some battles. - Use Falcon Punch when you absolutely must use it. It can do quite some damage when connected, but when missed, it can chew up a lot of your time. Use it in situations such as when Olimar is holding an opponent. -------------------------------------------------- Event 13 - Blades of the Quick and Mighty COE13 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Two blades of vastly different styles. Combine them to grasp their true worth. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: Two blades of vastly different styles indeed. Marth is quick, agile, and weak, but Ike is slow, patient, and strong. You're fighting Link, Meta Knight, and Ganondorf, in that respective order. - Stay in the lower caves. Again, they provide excellent shelter and a better chance of living. You're gonna need it too; you and your partner only have one life. - Ike's Eruption is good if he's surrounded. It can also be used as a sort of anti-air defense. Don't take too much time into his move; use it when you feel like you need it. - As Marth attacks the enemy with swift attacks, Ike should back him up with strong Smashes. Don't worry about being quick about Ike's moves. -------------------------------------------------- Event 14 - The Dark Guardians COE14 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Two beasts appeared in the tyrant's town! How clever. See if you can't crush them. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event was hard when I first did it. I was also lucky I won, too. You'd be surprised (if not interested) in how I defeated these enemies. The scenario is that you're Ganondorf and Wolf facing against a Giant Donkey Kong and a Giant Charizard. Sound familiar? Yep, it's the Three Beast Carnage event all over again. This time, you guys are smaller. - If you ever find a fan, PICK IT UP. That is how I won the event. Using the fan and slapping them silly. It may seem stupid, but it actually works. If you have a fan, go to the bottom platform and repeatedly press A. Eventually the enemies will fall to the paper barrage. Once at high damage, you can finish them off. -------------------------------------------------- Event 15 - Four Swords Brawl COE15 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Four chase coins instead of Rupees! The first team to 500 coins wins! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: You should put names so you don't confuse yourself. You're Toon Link and Toon Link versus Toon Link and Toon Link. What, you want specific? It's green and red versus blue and lavender (purple?). You're the green and red. - Have one Toon Link face against one enemy. It's easier to grab coins this way. Try to launch them in the air, then continue with aerial attacks. Toon Link's weight makes him perfect for pursuit. - If you die, you lose half your coins. Try not to get caught in the battle so much that you die. -------------------------------------------------- Event 16 - Jigglypuff's Great Comeback COE16 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Jigglypuff may be feeble at first, but if you can just hang on, then surely... My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event can get pretty annoying too. As Jigglypuff and GaW, you must either kill your enemies, Lucas and Ness, or survive the time limit. You start out as small, and the enemy as big. In Castle Siege, you grow in size and the enemy shrinks in size every floor you pass through. GaW doesn't change in size, however. - At the beginning, float below the edge. This will provoke Lucas or Ness to follow you. Once they follow you, hope you don't get hit, and grab onto the ledge. Yes I know, that's a cliffhanger, but some things have to be done. - Inside the castle you should be at regular size. If you're up against two people, avoid, but occasionally attack the enemies. - Inside the prison/underworld you'll grow large. Now's your chance to finish the enemies off. -------------------------------------------------- Event 17 - Sonic & Mario COE17 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: No problem! It's nothing at all! Only a race can decide the true victors! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: You're Sonic and Mario against Sonic and Mario, a destined battle between rivals and allies. Or...so you think. You fight three Sonics and three Marios, each a different outfit color than the last. They're a bit lighter than normal, by the way. You both have two lives in addition. - Go aggressive. Double team if you have to. The faster you finish the opponents the better. Throws work well to finish off people; you can even use it to throw them off screen. - There's nothing much to know in this event; just brawl as you would normally would. -------------------------------------------------- Event 18 - The New Weapon of Shadow Moses COE18 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: The robotic weapons have been rolled out. Only one of them is an ally... My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: As Snake and ROB, you're up against two ROBs, each with two lives. Unfortunately you each have only one life, so you're bound to get killed quickly if not careful enough. - Destroy one of the top pillar sections first. Use mines, proximity mines, eye beams, whatever you can to destroy it. Once it's destroyed (or the whole pillar), lead the enemy to the edge. Once there, grab them, and throw them off the stage for an easy kill. - If ROB is in trouble, use Snake's remote missile to help ROB. This is, of course, if Snake isn't already in trouble. If Snake is in trouble, use ROB's Robo Beam to pierce the enemy. If the Robo Beam isn't charged, use the Gyro. -------------------------------------------------- Event 19 - Shadow of Andross COE19 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: It's a fierce attack by Andross and Wolf. Take them, Team Star Fox! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: This event is really annoying. You're Fox and Falco against Wolf and supposedly Andross. However, you can't attack Andross; he's an assist trophy. His pixilated attacks will drive you nuts; good thing you're able to dodge them. - Keep moving. Andross's attacks seem to home in at your position; if you keep moving, you can dodge most of his attacks while trying to attack Wolf. - Don't take time to charge your Smashes. Either do it at its weakest or don't do it at all. By charging, you'll risk yourself to the attacks of Andross. Once you're attacked by him, your plans are already messed up. - In general, don't pay too much attention to Andross's attacks. Focus on Wolf mainly. Fox can launch Wolf in the air, and Falco can accumulate damage in the air. Use those type of combos against Wolf and you should defeat him quickly. -------------------------------------------------- Event 20 - The Final Battle for Two COE20 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: A fierce battle with nasty rivals! You can't lose now! My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: You'll be facing against the people in this order: Wario, Dedede, Wolf, Meta Knight, Ganondorf, and Bowser. You both have two lives, so it's much like an All Star event. -------------------------------------------------- Event 21 - The True All-Star Battle COE21 -------------------------------------------------- Objective: Fight everyone without any breaks! It's endless, but a suitable final battle. My Record: Hard, --:-- -- Walkthrough: A fitting last event. This event makes use of the All-Star style in that you fight everyone with limited health. The differences between this event and the real thing is that you can't use Heart Containers, you use two players, and the order is different. - The enemies are lighter than what they weight regularly. In a sense, this is much like Multi-Man Brawl. Again, go aggressive on the enemies. Use any kind of attack that you know can deal high damage. - If the enemy flies off the stage but doesn't die, don't try to follow him/her. Let the enemy come back to the stage, then finish him/her off. - Don't be reckless; there are no health items in this event, making damage the most important aspect of this event. Those who are reckless tend to get more damage (duh), thus die earlier. ==================================================== ==================================================== ==================================================== Unlockables UNLOK ---------------------------------------------------- Beat 7 of solo events #1 - #10 Unlocks solo events #11 - #20 -------------------------------------------------- Beat 18 of solo events #1 - #20 and unlock R.O.B. Kindred Fates is an open world monster battling RPG, and a love letter to the monster battle genre. Our goal is to evolve the genre, and finally bring fans what they've been asking for.
