Fortnite Season 5 Release Date: When Does Season 5 Start?

Epic Games has now provided official confirmation of the Fortnite Season 5 release date. This news comes at a time when Season 4 is winding down, after 10 weeks of challenges, updates, and events. Season 5 promises to bring new features to the game, which will hopefully innovate and expand on the Battle Royale experience. Based on various leaks and in-game clues, there are few things that players are expecting to see at the end of Season 4, as the transition is made to Season 5.

Fortnite Season 5 Release Date: When Does Season 5 Start?

First of all, let’s get the date out of the way. The Fortnite Season 5 release date is July 12, with 4 a.m. ET being the actual confirmed launch time. (Note: It’s possible that this will be when downtime begins, with an update being rolled out across all platforms. New Season 5 content will become available when servers are back up and running.)

To complete the new Fortnite Season 5 challenges, players will presumably have to purchase the Season 5 Battle Pass. It’s unlikely that Epic Games will change up how the game makes its money, so I think a Battle Pass is pretty much guaranteed. Expect to hear more about that as we get closer to the Fortnite Season 5 launch date.

Fortnite Season 5 Release Date: What Can We Expect From the New Season?

Fortnite Season 5 Release Date

When the Fortnite Season 5 release date is upon us, players can expect some cataclysmic events that will reshape the map. This is all based on datamined information and in-game hints. A lot of the info surrounds a mysterious rocket. Perhaps a Fortnite moon map is in the works, with new anti-gravity gameplay mechanics… It’s all speculation at this point, but I think players shouldn’t underestimate Epic Games. Whatever is planned, we’ll be seeing it all put into action soon enough on July 12!
