PUBG Snow Map Release Date

PUBG Snow Map Release Date: New Map Explained

Battle Royale fans went ballistic when a new PUBG Snow Map was announced during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference. This new map for the game that started it all looks to be entirely snow-themed, which is a pretty stark difference in setting when compared to Miramar, Erangel, and Sanhok.

The new PUBG Snow Map is obviously coming to Xbox One considering its placement on Microsoft’s stage as well as the original PC version, but when? Will it release after the PC version like other maps? When is the release date? We’ve got that info and more right here for you. Let’s get started.

PUBG Snow Map Release Date: New Map Explained

Before we get into the new PUBG Snow Map release date, let’s explain what we know about the map thus far. Unfortunately, we have no official name for it but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s super far away. In fact, we didn’t even learn the name of Sanhok until very recently and it is already playable.

The PUBG Snow Map was announced on Microsoft’s stage at E3 2018 and will be released as the fourth map for the game. The map size is set to be somewhere in between Erangel and Sanhok. Erangel is eight kilometers by eight kilometers, whereas the new map Sanhok is half of that.

We suspect that the new PUBG Snow Map will be somewhere around six kilometers by six kilometers, making it a nice balance between the long and quick matches of the other maps. This will make for a very interesting type of gameplay style. The initial announcement also shows footprints in the snow, meaning you could potentially track other players.

As for the PUBG Snow Map release date itself, we suspect that it will be before the end of this year, most likely this Winter. Sanhok is just now releasing this summer so Winter seems like the safest bet to give enough time. We do think it will release on PC first, but we hope and believe it will still be on Xbox One before 2019.
