Sea of Thieves 1.12 Update Patch Notes: What has Changed?

No, you’re not seeing things: Sea of Thieves hasn’t sunk without a trace. In fact, Rare is looking to breathe new life into the game, as evidenced at Microsoft’s E3 conference, and they’re starting with the Sea of Thieves 1.12 update. Boasting new, hidden locations, an assist for colorblind pirates, and much, more, here are the 1.12 patch notes.

Sea of Thieves 1.12 Update: Main Changes

Skeleton Thrones are undoubtedly the biggest change coming from the Sea of Thieves 1.12 update. There are 10 Skeleton Thrones waiting to be discovered, More on that in just a tick.

Rare has also given wannabe pirates a few free items. Every Sea of Thieves player now has a Sailor Drum and Sailor Speaking Trumpet, should they want to use it. There’s even a brand new shanty in the form of Merrick’s Shanty, and a new option for colorblind players in the menu.

Finally, to celebrate Pride Month, Rare has given all users a rainbow flag.

Sea of Thieves 1.12 Update: Skeleton Thrones

Hidden in the world of Sea of Thieves, thanks to the 1.12 update, are skeleton thrones. With five small, and five larger thrones, players will need to sit on each throne individually (as is the case with the smaller skeleton thrones) or with another crew for the larger thrones, but they’re exceptionally well-hidden.

If you do manage to find them, you’ll be granted access to limited-time only cosmetics, as well as unique pirate titles.

Sea of Thieves 1.12 Update: Download Size

The Xbox One and Xbox One X downloads weigh in at 1.64GB. The PC download, however, is slightly smaller at 1.57GB
