Fortnite Sniper Shootout V3: New Limited Time Mode Guide

The Fortnite Sniper Shootout V3 limited time mode has been added with the 4.4 update, giving sniper fanatics a new game type to show off their skills. As you’d expect from a “V3” iteration, Epic Games has made some changes since Sniper Shootout V2 that should hopefully make the mode more enjoyable. With that said, sometimes change can be bad, and I can definitely see some of these “improvements” frustrating many players. Let’s dive into the Fortnite Sniper Shootout V3 changes.

Fortnite Sniper Shootout V3 Changes

Fortnite Sniper Shootout V3 ditches the crossbow and brings in the scoped assault rifle. Scoped ARs can be found in both floor loot and chests. What’s more, ammo drop rates are no longer increased, returning back to normal. Sniper fans will be happy to learn that both Epic and Legendary sniper rifles can be found in floor loot, in addition to the usual chests and supply drops.

I know the addition of scoped assault rifles is going to annoy a lot of players, who think Sniper Shootout V3 should be limited to only sniper rifles, but I guess we’ll have to give it a try to see. You never know, it might still be fun!

With the addition of the incredibly accurate scoped assault rifles, there are going to be a lot more quick deaths added to the lengthy sniper battles. Sniper Shootout V3 is no doubt going to play differently now that assault rifles have been introduced, and players will need to be on their toes whenever they hear an enemy firing. Use the distinct weapon sounds to tell you what an enemy is using, and act accordingly. Build to give yourself cover on all sides, and be ready to quickly turn and build against any scoped assault rifle user.
