Pokemon Quest How to Save Charmander

Pokemon Quest: How to Save

Learning how to save in Pokemon Quest is a bit different from the main series Pokemon games. The new free-to-play game for Nintendo Switch is an original side story, that’s got a whole new aesthetic we’ve never seen before. Unlike a lot of free-to-play games, though, Pokemon Quest has a lot of content, so you’re going to want to figure out how to save your game before you start losing progress.

How to Save in Pokemon Quest

In the main series Pokemon games, you have to save manually each time. Going to the menu, hitting save and waiting for the operation to complete can take a bit, but it always feels good to get that visual confirmation that your data is safe.

In Pokemon Quest saving gives you no such indicator. Unfortunately, the only option available for saving your progress is autosave. However, Pokemon Quest seems to back up your activity quite often, and quitting the game is a sure way to trigger an autosave. The drawback is that you can’t go back and reload a save if you mess something up.

There are times where Pokemon Quest won’t save, though. If you’re in the middle of an expedition, you can only save if you complete it or your team is wiped out. Other than that, quitting out of the game will autosave every time.

You’ll need the ability to save too. Each of the adorable Pokefriends you can recruit has an evolutionary line just like they do in the main games, and if you’re going to catch them all, it’s going to take a great deal of time and effort.

Pokemon Quest is available now for free (to try) on the Nintendo Switch, and it will be coming to iOS and Android sometime near the end of this month.
