Fallout 76 Release Date: When is the New Fallout Game Out?

Bethesda only went and dropped a megaton of an announcement on our laps when news Fallout 76 made the rounds. Outside of a cryptic teaser and a killer trailer song, there hasn’t been a whole lot to go on. Of course, that makes things more tantalizing as we near E3 2018 and a possible release date. Despite that, we can still make some very logical guesses as to when we’ll be getting a Fallout 76 release date.

Fallout 76 Release Date: When is the New Fallout Game Out?

As of writing, there has been no official word from Bethesda or anyone involved within the project about a Fallout 76 release date. However, with the close proximity to E3 2018 and, looking at previous entries in the franchises, we can just about narrow down the release window to Fall in either 2018 or 2019. With the PS5 potentially around the corner in 2020, it appears Bethesda want to crack out one more Fallout game before the dawn of a new generation.

Fallout 76 Release Date: Will There Be an Announcement at E3 2018?

The answer to that is almost definitely “yes.” We know for sure that a Bethesda E3 showcase will take place on June 10 at 6:30pm PST/9:30pm EST/2:30am BST and it promises to give us a fuller glimpse at Fallout 76. You’d imagine a release date will be tagged onto the end of any trailer.

Fallout 76 Release Date: Will it Be Out in 2018?

At this point in time, it’s about 50/50. Fallout 4 shocked the world by announcing a release date at E3 2015 in the same year that it was unveiled, so Bethesda clearly have previous. For now, though, it looks like a toss-up between 2018 and 2019, with 2019 winning out purely to give Bethesda some time to polish a game which is bound to be highly-anticipated.

Fallout 76 Release Date: Trailer Clues

There is, however, one small clue hidden in the very first Fallout 76 teaser trailer. In it, a Pip Boy shows the date ‘October 27, 2102.’ October 27 falls on a Saturday in 2018 whereas, interestingly, it comes on a Tuesday, a traditional games release day… in 2020. Are we still two years out from a Fallout 76 release date?
