Fortnite Orange Justice Emote: Orange Shirt Kid Gets His Due

The Orange Shirt Kid has been forever immortalized in the Fortnite Orange Justice emote. Every game has its memes, and one of Fortnite‘s most prolific is Orange Shirt Kid. As of Season 4, you can show your support for Orange Shirt Kid by picking up the Orange Justice emote in Battle Royale. Below is everything you need to know about where the emote comes from and how to get it.

Fortnite Orange Justice: Where Does the Orange Justice Dance Come From?

Last month, Epic Games ran a BoogieDown contest. The #BoogieDown challenge asked players to film themselves performing a dance move and post it under that hashtag. The winner’s dance was to be added to the game as an emote. Out of all the entries though, there was one that captivated fans with how much heart it had.

Orange Shirt Kid’s #BoogieDown entry was one of the most popular and was featured all over the net. When he lost the contest, the Fortnite community took to Change.org to launch a petition to Epic Games to award Orange Shirt Kid the BoogieDown challenge victory.

Well, Epic Games heard their fans, and as of today, Orange Shirt Kid’s dance is available to purchase in-game as the Orange Justice emote.

How to Get the Orange Justice Emote in Fortnite

If you purchase the Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass, you’ll get a chance to celebrate Orange Shirt Kid instantly. You can also earn the Orange Justice emote by reaching tier 26 if you don’t want to shell out for a pass.

Of course, Orange Shirt Kid and the community loved the fact that Epic added the dance to the game, and it’s great to see that everyone came out of this smiling. This is proof that something can be a meme without being mean.
