PUBG Update 12 PC Patch Notes Detail Big Weapon Balance Changes and More

The PUBG update 12 PC patch notes have been revealed, finally detailing the big changes that will soon be coming to PUBG‘s live servers. If you’re a PC player who has the PUBG Test Server installed, you’ll be able to give the changes a test drive, ahead of the patch’s public launch. At 9.8 GB in size, the patch is pretty massive and hints at the huge amount of changes and improvements contained within. From big weapon balance changes and new attachments to an entirely new weapon and vehicle, PUBG update 12 is set to really shake things up.

PUBG Update 12 PC Patch Notes

Firstly, there are the weapon balance changes. The highlights here are the pistols, which have been given a significant boost in stopping power. All pistols have received a buff, which should make them more dependable in the early game and still capable of finishing enemies off as rounds conclude. The other weapon balance changes are relatively minor, though fans of the SKS will be sad with the 4 damage reduction.

See the table below for the full  list of weapon balance changes:

Another big change implemented with PUBG update 12 is the removal of level three helmets from floor loot. Instead of finding them in the wild, players will have to search care packages for the best helmet. Each care package is guaranteed to have one, which will likely make airdrops an even bigger target for players.

A number of new attachments will also be available for players to find and equip. Here’s the full list:

  • Duckbill – A new attachment for shotguns (S1897, S12K). It reduces the vertical pellet spread but increases horizontal bullet spread
    • Attachable to S1897, S12K
  • Light Grip – It reduces recoil recovery time but increases vertical and horizontal recoil
    • Attachable to ARs, SMGs, DMRs (UMP9, AUG, M416, SCAR-L, SKS)
  • Thumb Grip – It reduces vertical recoil but increases horizontal recoil. It also increases the recoil recovery time
    • Attachable to – ARs, SMGs, DMRs (UMP9, AUG, M416, SCAR-L, SKS)
  • Half Grip – It reduces vertical and horizontal recoil and also reduces recoil recovery time
    • Attachable to – ARs, SMGs, DMRs (UMP9, Vector, AUG, M416, SCAR-L, SKS)
  • Scope 3x – This scope has fixed 3x magnification with an illuminated reticle. It’s discoverable as a common world-drop item
  • Scope 6x – This scope has variable 3x–6x magnification. It’s discoverable as a rare world-drop item.

A new weapon, the SLR DMR, also makes its way into the game. It uses 7.62mm ammo and contains 10 bullets per magazine. The PUBG SLR is more powerful than the SKS, but has more recoil.

The Mirado is a classic muscle car that has been added to the Miramar map. This vehicle is the “fastest way to blaze down a highway.”

Finally, there have been some big changes to the Miramar map, in an attempt to make it more popular with players. However, if players still want to avoid the desert map, the new map selection function will allow them to do so.
