Here’s How to Get PUBG Mobile Right Now on the Canadian Google Play Store for Android

PUBG Mobile has soft-launched for Android, and you can download it from the Canadian Google Play Store right now. That is, as long as you’re Canadian. Unlike the Apple App Store, there’s no easy way to fool the Canadian Google Play Store into letting you download PUBG Mobile.

However, just because it’s difficult doesn’t mean it’s impossible. We’ll point you in the right direction if you want to download PUBG on the Canadian Google Play Store right now.

How to Download PUBG on the Canadian Google Play Store

Normally if you wanted to play PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile on Android, you’d just have to sideload the APK, and you’d be set. Unfortunately, PUBG mobile also requires a 700 MB .obb file that contains extra data you need to play the game. This .obb file can only be downloaded via the real Canadian Google Play Store, not through the APK.

Fortunately, there are two methods you can use to get the .obb file you need to play the game.

Get a VPN

You can use a VPN to make it appear as though you’re connecting to Google from Canada. This is probably the safest way to download the game since you’ll be getting it straight from Google’s servers.

Make sure that if you do go this route, you research whichever VPN you choose thoroughly. While there’s plenty of reputable services out there, there are also some that may be up to nefarious things. A rule of thumb is to avoid free VPNs, as they are the ones that have historically been caught doing sheisty stuff like selling customer data.

Download the APK and .obb Elsewhere

Okay, there’s a lot of sketchy sites out there that offer game APKs and .obbs for download. Whether or not downloading PUBG Mobile from one of these places is considered piracy is probably a complicated legal question that I have no business answering.

If you’re going to go this route, you better make sure it’s from a source you absolutely, 100% trust. APKs and .obbs can be modified to contain trojans, phishing programs, and other terrible things you don’t want near your Android.

Your best option for downloading PUBG is really just to wait until it’s available in your territory. It’s already soft-launched in Canada and is fully-localized, so it won’t be long until it hits the US and Europe.
