FFXV Dread Behemoth

FFXV Dread Behemoth Guide: Dread Behemoth Weakness and How to Beat It

The FFXV Dread Behemoth is a beast unlike any other. This massive hulking monster that Final Fantasy fans will very clearly recognize is way more dangerous and challenging monster than the one you can hunt down in the main game portion of Final Fantasy XV. The Dread Behemoth is reserved for endgame only.

However, any fan of a challenge will want to take down the FFXV Dread Behemoth because completing the monster’s associated quest is one of the hardest in the entire game. This is great news for completionists, but it does take some necessary preparations. Let’s get started on how to beat this beast.

FFXV Dread Behemoth Guide: Dread Behemoth Weakness and How to Beat It

Defeating the FFXV Dread Behemoth is solely reserved for endgame players only. To even access the quest and hunt down the monster, you must have completed the main story. To start the Dread Behemoth, load up a completed save, go to a rest point, call Umbra, and make your way from Altissia to Longwythe Peak.

We recommend camping there and eating up the best food Ignis can cook before starting this insane fight. For the fight itself, we highly recommend your party be at least level 110 or higher if possible. This is a tough boss with no direct weakness. In fact, refrain from using any Fire attacks or spells whatsoever.

FFXV Dread Behemoth’s Blizzard attack is the most dangerous to look out for. Using Thunder or the upgraded spell Thunder Expericast will allow you to interrupt it and avoid major damage. This fight will be a lengthy one, so make sure to settle in and take your time. Prioritize dodging over attacking.

While it isn’t an outright weakness, your best bet for actually dealing damage is warpstriking the FFXV Dread Behemoth’s upper body and neck area. Doing this will result in a blindside attack and give you more damage than normal. Keep at it and you will quickly settle into a nice cycle that can be repeated until the FFXV Dread Behemoth is down. Good luck!
