Fortnite – Where to Find Rare Treasure Chests

As with many survival games, loot progression and gathering are main focuses of Fortnite. Players who learn to find and loot treasure efficiently end up with the most powerful characters.

Below are some tips for finding rare treasure chests in Fortnite.

Follow the Noise

There’s a very distinct sound effect that plays when a treasure chest is near you. It is recommended that you play with sound enabled, and when walking through indoor areas pay attention. If you hear the noise, look around you for a chest.

Note that treasure chests come in a variety of forms, including traditional wooden boxes, vaults, and even coffins.

Beat Em Down

The most valuable treasure is usually hidden in harder-to-reach areas. For example, they may be inside an attic, or behind a wall you need to break down. You can usually rely on listening for the noise as mentioned above, and resort to tearing down walls or investigating difficult areas to get to if you can’t find the treasure.

Just keep in mind that when you break through a wall you might be making it easier for enemies to get to you.

Go Up or Down

Expanding upon the previous note, treasure is usually located in basements, caves, or at the top level of structures. It’s very uncommon that you’ll find anything of note on the base level, so don’t spend your time there if you want to find something special.
