General Tips
- Infinite Climbing – Since your character loses stamina while climbing, you need to use a little trick to get him to climb infinitely. Start climbing and press B to make the character drop. Immediately after that, press B again, while holding the left analog stick forward. This will allow you to recover some stamina without actually resting, so you can simply continue climbing. Remember, though, that you can do this until you’ve completely drained your stamina. Once that happens you’ll fall and will have to do this all over again.
- The Warm Doublet – The Warm Doublet is a special item that makes you immune to cold weather, making it a fairly important piece of clothing. To get it, you need to go south of the Temple of Time and reach the Old Man’s house. Inside, you will need to locate the diary mentioning a special recipe – “Spicy Meat and Seafood Fry.” To make this, you will need to combine Raw Meat, Hyrule Bass, and, of course, Spicy Pepper. The cooking pot needed for this recipe will be somewhere just outside the Old Man’s house. After you’ve combined the ingredients, go talk to the Old Man and say “I cooked something.” He will give you the Warm Doublet.
- The Horned Statue – There is a narrow path in Hateno Village right next to Firly Village. Locate it and follow it to the black smoking statue. Once you interact with it, you will get a side quest. The first time you do this, you will lose one heart container, but the second time, you will get it back. Then you will have activated the Horned Statue, which lets you sell your heart or stamina container for a 100 rupees. After you do that, you can buy it back but it will be 20% more expensive.
- Don’t Hit Cuccos – While Cuccos are not normally aggressive towards the player, they can gang up and hurt you if you provoke them. The only way this can happen is if you keep on attacking one of them for a long period of time. Before you try it, though, keep in mind that you can’t defeat a group of cuccos. Therefore, other than to satisfy your curiosity, there is no good reason for doing something like that.
