1. Controls

Analog Stick - Steering
A button - Acceleration
B button - Brake
C button(s) - Camera views, etc.
Z button - Stop item box/Use item

It doesn't take long to master this game. Once you got the controls down,
you will be riding like a pro!

2. Drivers

Mario
Luigi
Peach
Toad
Yoshi
Donkey Kong
Wario
Bowser

Here are descriptions for each driver, and stats (steering, speed, and
power.)

Mario - An all around good character. Good for beginners and maybe experts.

Steering: Good
Speed: Ok
Power: Medium
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luigi - Almost like Mario, but faster. He is not as strong as him, though.

Steering: Good
Speed: Ok/Good
Power: Ok/Medium
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Peach - A very good driver. She picks up great speed at start and gets to a
medium pace.

Steering: Fine
Speed: Very good
Power: Weak
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Toad - My favorite charater. He is fast and has good turning. He lacks
power, though.

Steering: Good
Speed: Very good
Power: Weak
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yoshi - A pretty average character. A very good choice for anyone.

Steering: Good
Speed: Good
Power: Weak
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Donkey Kong - A powerful character. May lack a little speed.

Steering: Good
Speed: Medium
Power: Strong
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wario - Another strong guy (fatty) and has good speed and steering, too!

Steering: Very good
Speed: Good
Power: Strong
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bowser - A very strong turtle, and may be a little slower than DK.

Steering: Fine
Speed: Medium
Power: Strong
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE:

I have heard rumors about Koopa Troopa being a secret character, but I doubt
it. I heard you need to hit around 23 porcupines in Yoshi Valley or
something similar to that, but I had no luck. Have fun trying, but prepare
for disappointment.

in your way.
=========================================================================

Red Shell - The shell aims at the person ahead of you and hits them.
Three Red Shells - Get three red shells of use of attacking.
Green Shell - Shoot one of these and let it bounce off walls and track.
Three Green Shells - Same affect of single green shell except three.
Banana Peel - Lay one or throw one.
Bundle of Banana Peels - Lay or throw the whole group separetly.

Fake Item holder - Lay one of these to trick anyone who tries to grab it.
=========================================================================

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: There are 3 secret items I believe... Although I have never gotten
them, I have heard of them. If you search the internet, I am sure you can
find how to get them.

4. Mario GP

One of the funnest parts of the game. Play a cup and race four racetracks.
Try and get the gold trophy. Play 50 CC and earn your way to play 150 CC.

Here is a list of all the cups and difficulties of each.

Mushroom Cup (Easy)

Luigi Raceway
Moo Moo Farm
Koopa Troopa Beach
Kalimari Desert

Flower Cup (Medium)

Toad's Turnpike
Frappe Snowland
Choco Mountain
Mario Raceway

Star Cup (Medium)

Wario Stadium
Sherbet Land
Royal Raceway
Bowser's Castle

Special Cup (Medium/Hard)
(This cup is unlocked once all gold trophies are earned.)

DK's Jungle Parkway
Yoshi Valley
Banshee Boardwalk
Rainbow Road

Here are explinations for each level (50 CC, 100 CC, 150 CC, and EXTRA.)

50 CC - The easiest. Shouldn't take you very long to beat
100 CC - A medium difficulty. A moderate player shouldn't have trouble.
150 CC - Can be difficult for beginners, but medium for experts.
EXTRA - Same level as 150 CC, but backward tracks.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to e-mail me.

5. VS.

Not much to explain about this mode. You can race with your friends on any
track. (2-4 players.)

Have fun!

6. Battle

Another fun mode. You battle, not race. You drive around, trying to attack
the other players (with the items or ramming.) You have three balloons, if
all of them are gone, you are out! You turn into a bomb once all of your
balloons are gone and you can run into anyone to lose one of their balloons.
Once you attack someone, your explode and you are completely gone. And
remember, once you are a bomb, you can't use any items. Here are the levels
and descriptions.

Big Donut - A circle shaped level with lava in the middle.
Block Fort - My favorite. Three levels and four forts. Red, Yellow, Blue and
Green forts, and this one will keep you busy.
Double Deck - The name pretty much says it all.
Skyscraper - The hardest one. Doesn't take much to fall right off the
building. It's also hard to hit your opponents, be careful.

7. Time Trials

Only for one player. You try to beat times, and it's recorded. You can also
save your ghost so you can race your own self. You can race at any track.

8. Options

You can change from Sound Mode or to Headphone. You can also copy the your
N64 controller pack, or erase all data. Not a place you would go very often,
but you can check out this stuff sometime, if you wanted to.

9. Secrets

Here are some of the secrets I know of:

Stop from skidding out: Hold the B button once you know your skidding out.
You might skid out from banana peels, etc. You will know this cheat worked
if a music note appears above your character's head. They will also cheer if
you did it right.

Bounce high in the sky: After going off a ramp, hold the analog stick down,
and your character will bounce high once you land. Sometimes, it will fail
to work.

Go to the Game-Revolution cheat code page to find more cheats.
