WandaVision Episode 9 Ending Explained

What did the WandaVision season 1 post-credits scenes mean?

There were two WandaVision season 1 post-credits scenes shown at the end of episode 9.

WandaVision Post-Credits 1

Post-credits scene 1 featured a Skrull talking to Monica about an “old friend of her mother’s” and how “he wants to meet [Monica].” When Monica asks the Skrull where this old friend wants to meet, the Skrull responds by looking to the sky. This teases that Monica is going to space. While “mother’s old friend” might first make viewers think of Captain Marvel, the “he” pronoun makes it more mysterious. There’s potential for it to be Nick Fury or Talos, but it could be someone new entirely.

WandaVision Post-Credits 2

Post credits scene 2 showed Wanda living alone in the wilderness. While at first it looked like she was simply watching the world go by with a coffee in her hand, it was later revealed that she has been studying the Darkhold book. As she’s reading, she hears her children cry out for help. She immediately closes the book and presumably goes to rescue them.

Where did White Vision go?

After being convinced by Wanda’s Vision that he is the “true Vision,” White Vision flies off into the sky. With his memories unlocked, White Vision is now essentially a pre-Endgame incarnation, though with a fancy white paint job. However, he is not armed with the Mind Stone. White Vision’s realization could allow him to return in future MCU movies or TV shows. For now, he’s gone off the radar, Hulk-style.

When saying goodbye, Wanda and Vision do say that there’s potential for them to “say hello again” somehow. Perhaps this hints at a future where Wanda and White Vision meet again.

What happened to Quiksilver?

Evan Peters’ Quiksilver was really Ralph Bohner all along.

Rather than teasing a potential crossover between the X-Men and the MCU, it looks like actor Evan Peters was used simply as a cool reference. Agatha had manipulated a town resident, Ralph, who just happened to be played by the same actor as Quiksilver in the X-Men universe.

What happened to Wanda and Vision’s children, Billy and Tommy?

At the end of episode 9, Billy and Tommy disappear with the crumbling hex.

However, their disappearance is done off-camera and in the second post-credits scene they can be heard asking for Wanda’s help. It’s likely that she will now be looking to rescue them.

Billy and Tommy should grow up to become Wiccan and Speed, respectively, and they have been spotted in the filming location of the upcoming Dr. Strange movie. Expect to see them popping up a lot more in the MCU.

What will happen in season 2?

In WandaVision season 2, it seems like Wanda will still be battling with her powers. Succumbing to the temptation of the Darkhold book to track down her children, it seems like she will still be on the path to “destroy the world,” as Agatha mentioned.

Then there’s the question of White Vision. If the show keeps the name “WandaVision,” then it would make sense for White Vision to appear frequently. Perhaps Wanda would be helping to track him down as he comes to terms with his identity.

However, Marvel currently has “no plans for a season 2,” so it might not happen at all.

Why is Dr. Strange not in WandaVision season 1?

Dr. Strange does not show up in WandaVision despite the massive battle that takes place in the finale.

Agatha Harkness does mention him, though, saying that Wanda’s power “exceeds that of the Sorcerer Supreme.” When unleashed, Wanda can even take down Dr. Strange. This is an interesting bit of information that may play into future events, especially now that Wanda is interacting with the potentially dangerous Darkhold book.
