Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Will Have 8-Player Battles, Stage Builder, New Modes, More

During tonight's Super Smash Bros. for Wii U-focused Nintendo Direct, the Big N revealed a whopping 50 new bits of information about the upcoming console brawler, all of which are detailed in the video below.

One of the biggest reveals during the Direct was that the game will feature up to 8-player battles and extra-large stages specifically designed for the massive player count. As previously-rumored, a board game mode called Smash Tour was revealed, as well as a stage builder for all you creative folk.

Two other new modes, dubbed Master Orders and Crazy Orders, were confirmed as well, and have the player completing various challenges from Master and Crazy Hand to unlock various goodies. And that's just the tip of the content iceberg.

Oh, did I mention that Mewtwo will be an unlockable character for those who purchase both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game? The beloved psychic-powered Pokémon won't be available until 2015, but I'm sure fans won't mind waiting for the free download.

A whole lot was announced, so be sure to check out the Nintendo Direct broadcast (embedded above) for all the juicy details ahead of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U's big launch on November 21.
