Baldur's Gate 3 BG3 Iron Throne Save Everyone All Prisoners Prison Rescue

Baldur’s Gate 3 Iron Throne: How to Save Everyone in 6 Turns

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Iron Throne prison is a challenge in Act 3, especially if you want to save everyone within the six-turn time limit. Rescuing all of the prisoners in this underwater prison is an optional challenge as there’s no particular quest objective that requires it. However, saving Duke Ravengard, the mind flayer Omeluum, and all of the Gondian family members would result in a very happy ending. It will take all of your tactical abilities to rescue every person, since the prisoners are all spread out and there are many sahuagin enemies that can obstruct or attack them as they dash to the entrance. Here are several techniques you can use to make sure you can save everyone in the Iron Throne in BG3.

How to save everyone in Baldur’s Gate 3 Iron Throne

The following are some strategies that will help save everyone in the Iron Throne prison:

  • Use Haste or Potions of Speed – If you have been saving the fantastic Potion of Speed for a rainy day, here’s where to use it. This, along with the Haste spell, will increase the movement speed of any character who takes it and provide an extra action. Just note that it causes fatigue after three turns.
  • Cast teleportation spells – Have a spellcaster use Misty Step, Dimension Door, Arcane Gate, Fly, or whatever spell to get through the prison quickly. Transportation arrows will be useful here too. (Omeluum has teleporting spells too, so he can help once he’s rescued.)
  • Distract sahuagin with summons or walls – To protect the prisoners, use scrolls or spells such as Conjure Elemental (or the Minor version) and Wall of Stone. This will keep the guards occupied.
  • Split party from the start – It’s always dangerous to separate the party, but you need to cover as much ground as possible.

With these strategies and a good amount of luck, you’ll be able to rescue all of the prisoners within six turns.

On an unfortunate note, there does seem to be a bug where some NPCs can’t figure out how to use the ladder to escape the prison. But you should still be able to save the majority of the prisoners in that case.
