Baldur's Gate 3 Broken Moon Lantern How to Fix Repair

Baldur’s Gate 3 Broken Moon Lantern: Can You Fix It?

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Broken Moon Lantern can be found in various places in the game. However, it’s better that you have a working Moon Lantern as you traverse the cursed lands in Act 2 so that you can avoid the Shadow Curse. Given that there are other broken items in the game that can be fixed, like the broken head and shaft of the Vision of the Absolute spear, many want to know whether the broken lantern can be repaired as well. Here’s if you can fix the Broken Moon Lantern in BG3.

Can you fix the Baldur’s Gate 3 Broken Moon Lantern?

As far as we can tell so far, there is no way to fix the Broken Moon Lantern item. You have to get an intact Moon Lantern instead.

It may be possible to repair the lantern using something like pixie dust, but we have yet to find evidence in the game or in the BG3 community that such an item exists. However, we’ll update this article if a solution presents itself.

How to get a working Moon Lantern

There are multiple ways to locate a working Moon Lantern to protect your party as they travel through the cursed lands:

  • Kill Kar’niss – This is a pretty harsh solution, but the drider Kar’niss who appears at the Ruined Battlefield during the “Seek Protection from the Shadow Curse” quest holds a Moon Lantern. Killing Kar’niss will get you the lantern off its corpse.
  • Locate Balthazar’s Moon Lantern – By following the story In Act 2, you can receive a quest marker leading to Balthazar’s Room in the Moonlight Towers. Inside the room, the lantern will be next to wooden desk.
  • Finish side quest from Last Light Inn – In this location, you can speak with the NPC Jaheira to receive a side quest where your party needs to ambush some enemies. This group will have a Moon Lantern on hand. Freeing the pixie inside this lantern will give you a bell that you can use to call the pixie for a blessing that protects you from the curse without the need of holding a lantern.

That said, even if you don’t have a working Moon Lantern, you can safely explore much of the cursed lands by using the Light cantrip or a torch.
