Baldurs Gate 3 Cheats Console Commands Cheat Engine

Baldur’s Gate 3 Cheats, Console Commands, and Cheat Engine Tables Explained

Many players will be looking for Baldur’s Gate 3 cheats and console commands to do things like spawn items or NPCs or get infinite gold. In the first two games in the series, you could use the console to do almost anything you can to the game, so you’d think that’d be the case here. We’ll take a look at whether there are BG3 cheats or console commands and alternatives to them below.

Are there Baldur’s Gate 3 cheats?

There are no cheats in Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian Studios didn’t add the functionality to the game, and that’s not a big surprise. Unlike previous games in the series, this one heavily emphasizes multiplayer, which may be why cheats aren’t accessible.

Unfortunately, you can’t even activate cheats via the console in BG3. Previous Larian games allowed you to enable a set of key combinations, which gave you some limited functionality, like teleporting your party to the cursor location or killing a highlighted NPC.

Can you cheat with console commands?

Accessing Baldur’s Gate 3 console commands is also currently impossible. Larian has deactivated the console in the retail build of the game, so there’s no way to enter cheats there.

Some sites erroneously report that the method of opening the console in previous Larian games, Ctrl + Tab, works here. Unfortunately, they’re mistaken. It’s unlikely we’ll get access to the console until the studio releases Divinity Engine 4.0 to the public alongside official mod support.

When we get official access to the BG3 console, you can expect a host of useful commands to emerge. In the meantime, be on the lookout for third-party mods that unlock this functionality.

Does Cheat Engine work with Baldur’s Gate 3?

The most reliable way to cheat in Baldur’s Gate 3 currently is with Cheat Engine. Once you install the program, you can find a BG3 cheat table that can do the following:

  • Ability Stat Points (save game to populate)
  • Add 50 to Rolls
  • Add All Resistance
  • Add Experience
  • Add Gold
  • Add Permanent Tags to Player: Pet Pal, Comprehend Languages, Detect Thoughts, Hermit, Urchin
  • Add Spells
  • Always Win Rolls
  • Companion Approval
  • Companion Attitude
  • Dark Vision
  • Extra Armor
  • Extra Max Health
  • Immune to Status Effects
  • Increase Carry Capacity
  • Last Item Moved
  • Max Ability Stats
  • Object Spawner (equipment, items, scenery, walls, etc.)
  • Respec Character
  • Rest Anywhere
  • Super Jump
  • Toggle Fog of War
  • Unlimited Action Points
  • Unlimited Movement
  • Unlimited Sorcery Points
  • Unlimited Spell Slots
  • Unlimited Warlock Spell Slots
  • Zero Weight

However, be warned. We recommend only using Cheat Engine in a single-player game (preferably with your internet disabled). If you try to use it in multiplayer, there’s always a chance you could be banned (though it doesn’t seem like BG 3 has a dedicated anti-cheat).
