Diablo 4 Rubber Banding Issues Fix PC PS5 PS4 Xbox Lag

Diablo 4 Rubber Banding Issues: How to Fix Lag for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox

Various Diablo 4 rubber banding issues have appeared after the latest patch on PC, PS5, PS4, and Xbox. Some of these lag and high latency problems have been due to DDoS attacks on the Diablo 4 servers, but that may not be the only culprit behind why players are experiencing stuttering. Multiple users report that it now sometimes takes a long time to summon a horse or several seconds before a skill actually goes off. Fortunately, there are several ways you can fix or at least mitigate and lower Diablo 4 rubberbanding problems.

How to fix Diablo 4 rubber banding issues

The following are a few solutions you can try to fix Diablo 4 rubber banding issues:

  • Disable crossplay – This solution will help console players more than PC players, but turning off all crossplay functions as well as cross-platform communication through the game’s settings will help. It can cause some towns to feel far less populated, but it will lower the amount of lag overall.
  • Lower graphics settings – Turning down some of the graphical settings, particularly SSAO, may help in making your game run more smoothly. This solution will impact PC players more than those on console.
  • Find groups with players in your region – If you like playing the game in groups, particularly with those on Discord, you will want to check what regions each member of the party is playing from. Parties with players in different regions can cause a lot of latency.

Speaking of Discord, you may also want to disable hardware acceleration on the app as well if you use it while you play the game.

If you’re playing on PS4 or Xbox One, you may want to upgrade to PS5 or Xbox Series X|S to reduce lag and latency overall. There may also be technical issues with your internet setup that you can alter as well.

So far, Blizzard hasn’t addressed the Diablo 4 rubber banding issues much, apart from official announcements about DDoS attacks. At this point, we recommend that you are very careful if you’re playing a hardcore character and that you use some defensive skills a few seconds before you think you might need them.
