Hand of Fate Reaches Early Steam Access, Available for Vita and PS4 Soon

Hand of Fate, a card-based roguelike that was fully funded on Kickstarter back in mid-December 2013, has successfully reached Steam Early Access. At the time of this writing, it has 12 community reviews, all recommendations with no downvotes.

Players build a deck whose cards become alive and are rendered as 3D models as a third-person action-adventure title. It's like a single-player Magic: The Gathering session except the AI is the entire video game. In fact, it already looks far better than the simple campaign mode for Magic 2014, which I finished just a week ago.

In the Early Access FAQ on Steam, developer Defiant Development intends "to wrap Hand of Fate up by the end of the year, and then focus on additional content and new projects." In addition to balance and polish, the dealer will have full voice-acting.

Hand of Fate will reach PS4 in Q4 2014 and PS Vita in Q1 2015.
