Man Gets Six Figures for Video Game Collection

Many of us love keeping all of our video games around in order to revisit favorites or just to show off, but sometimes games end up collecting you. I think that's what happened to Michael Thomasson, a video game fanatic with a Guinness World Record for the largest video game collection.

However, Thomasson recently sold his collection for a whopping $750,000 in an auction at GameGavel. Thomasson estimated that he had over 11,000 games and 100 consoles too, the sum total of which drove the auction from $1 to the final total of $750,250.

Remember folks, video games are fun to play, but don't let that overstocked shelf collapse like the one holding the tarantula in Macaulay Culkin's brother's bedroom in Home Alone.
