Amazing Spider-Man 2 Features Carnage, Black Cat, And Kingpin

Activision have been developing Spider-Man games for years and the latest, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, is tied to a new movie in theaters May 2nd, but you might want to avert your eyes.

It's not that Spidey grows eight legs and a hairy mug, but that some of these character models look like they could. Regardless, I'm excited to see Carnage, Goblin, and Kingpin get time in the game along with Black Cat.

Despite the perceived quality in this trailer, Activision plays their part in bringing movie-goers into games. I've played countless tie-ins over the years and while they've all varied in quality, I always loved taking a game home and living the action and adventure I saw on screen.

Really, if all Beenox manages to nail in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is the open-world web-swinging, it'll be a massive success that combines with the May 2nd movie release to drive Spider-Man fever through the summer.

One thing the trailer doesn't reveal much about is the "Hero or Menace" system in the game, which judges Spider-Man's actions around New York. I'm wondering if there's trouble you can get into as Spider-Man or if it's just a matter of not catching enough lost balloons.

You can take home The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS on April 29th
